I'm trying to extrude an edge along a curve that is flat on the grid. I want the resulting geometry to be completely flat in the X Z plane. The problem is that I'm getting a subtle, and sometimes extreme, twist in my geometry as it travels along my curve and I don't really understand how to control this or set it up so…
It seams like the face normals in 3DSmax are messed up. I can't get them to extrude along the normal like I can in any other app. Anyone have an idea what I'm doing wrong? EDIT: Looks like there was something wrong with the mesh, exporting it as an obj and re-importing fixes the issue, but every time I re-create it from…
MODO
| Sketch Extrude This video is a
quick introduction to the Sketch Extrude Tool in MODO. The Sketch Extrude tool enables
you to extrude selected polygons by drawing the path of the extrusion in
the viewport. The polygon extrusion follows the movement of the mouse in real-time
as you draw in the viewport making the…
heya. i'm curious. i know there are ways to extrude pixels around uv chunks so that you dont get those ugly mipmapping artefacts heres an example of the effect. peppi send me a photoshop filter but thats not really the effect you can see on the pic below. it blurs too much and thus isnt accurate enough. anyone did that…
I forgot to mention that I would like to use a single extrude command, or I would have used an iteration through a pre-computed list of the faces splitted with a spacing of 2. I am trying to avoid this: And have a single history for the extrude command.
So I haven't done this in quite a while isn't there some way to extrude a nurbs circle along a spline and have the tessellation be higher in the corners and low in the straight parts? I've tried a combination of all the tessellation settings and can't figure it out.
when I make a cylinder for example and I extrude a cap face, the polygons have no assigned smoothing polygons where as the original polygons are assigned to 4. It's not that much of a problem, just a huge annoyance when modeling. does anyone know how to fix?
build your square/cube whatever. Turn on Autogrid. Create a circle on your model where you want to extrude your cylinder. Turn its iterations down to whatever matches best with your topology.. at least keep 8 sides though as it smooths nicely. Turn on snap to points. Use the cut tool on your model, snapping to the points…
I am trying to hand extrude (aka not use the control widget that pops up) and it will not let me do so in small enough intervals. I'm using 2013, and i do not have snapping on, even turned it off in preferences and set to 0.0 just in case. Anyone have this issue or have any idea how to fix this problem? thanks.
