Smaller increments on extrude tool? Maya 2012

Is there a hotkey to make the extrude sliders go in smaller increments? Like fine tuning? Sorry if this has been asked before, but I couldnt find it.

Left or Middle mouse drag and hold down ctrl for the on screen sliders. This also works in the input fields in the attribute editor.

To use it in the channel box, select the attribute (not the input field) and middle mouse drag left and right in the model window to increase / decrease the value. Holding ctrl here also allows finer adjustments.
