Yeah it took me about 4 or 5 years before I landed my first job. It was mentally tough, but I just stuck with it. If you want advice... These worked wonders for me; - Embed yourself in a community of artists. Best to do so on Discord or Slack. Create friends among these artists, who can guide you and give you advice. - If…
Hey everyone, I started this environment for a Polycount challenge a while back but couldn’t finish it because I got busy. I’ve picked it up again and I’m currently at the finished blockout / early set dressing stage. I still need to work on a few props—some of them are just placeholders for now. I also haven’t done a…
Critiques saves lives!!! By closely referencing 'Anatomy for Sculptor', I reshaped the skull to more realistic proportions in order to have a good reference point for working on the eye and mouth area. Just by doing that, the sculpt looked miles better. I then worked on the eye area, sunking the eyeballs and really…
Neat update and since you are making it all your own you can do whatever you want after the challenge with the assets, so it is a good bonus to try to generate additional "resources".
What, it's just coincidental that the games they bitch and moan about are ones that are more inclusive of LGBT people, people that aren't white, etc? There's no conclusion to take from them saying that any gender except male is "political" and that LGBT characters merely being included - sometimes in as little as a small…

I think that what makes sculpting a person more or less difficult generally has to do with the goals of the sculptor. For instance, let's consider sculpting a game character with simple hero anatomy in an A pose with stylization. That approach is going to be basically the same for male and female characters, in my opinion.…
I decided to make her hair color a little lighter. The red was cool, but this was a way cooler alternative. Also, working on the right side of her face. It's always quite challenging painting one of the side views. Once I get once side, I can mirror it which is great. Also, reference definitely helps alot.
Bwaah!? A COMMUNITY recap? Yes! One of our long-time members, Marine, sent in a bevy of news from different communities that is too good to not share. Let's begin! Polycount Starting off in our own backyard was this weeks announcement of an environment art challenge where you, the Polycount Community, could vote on its…
We all know just how sexy the art can be around here. The WAYWO thread alone will call your eyeballs up, take them to dinner then back to its place for the night. Only to duck out before they've woken up without so much as leaving a note. It's filthy like that. But, did you know there's a lot of discussions happening…
