Hey guys, I've always observed in 3d modelling and assets that minimally people name joints, materials, meshes and texture files. Like the picture above. Is there anymore naming we need to do for our assets to be presentable for work? For example for materials and the textures connected. Do we need to rename the files or…
If it is a strange name like 'poopinmymouth' for example, it could actually benefit, since people might remember it better Otherwise go with your real name, I guess. Edit: Actually I think a real name is easier to remember, since people are better trained at remembering normal names (doesn't apply to forein names though),…
Read into a feature called 'match by name' which only bakes parts with matching _high and _low (providing you already set the name correctly before bring to painter). You did mentioned about desk_high and desk_low, I'm assuming you name this as the .fbx file? you need to set the name of the mesh itself and change the…
What's the name of the *.PSDs? It should be the name of the primary mesh group. So if you exported a model with one group and that mesh group's name was Box001, the PSDs should be called Box001_Albedo.psd and so forth. Make sure the reimported mesh group matches the name of the PSDs (which would be the original name of the…
Hey guys, I have about a year left of college and I'm starting to work on my online portfolio. I was wondering if the domain name plays an influence in my getting a job or not? The .com name I wanted was taken but a .net name was available. Does the .com or .net play a role at all? I wanted to keep the domain as short as…
Most of the time it´s a simple typo in the name of the mesh for instance. Especially with those long ass UT3 names that happens very fast...Check the names of your pack and your meshes.
