Hello! Has anyone else noticed a bug in Maya 2024 when it comes to extruding along a curve? Am I missing something? When I add divisions, the mesh doesn't conform to the curve. I was trying to make a braid like weave and ended up doing it manually. I've restarted Maya, my computer, tried again in a new Maya file.. Curious…
You could (in theory) encode all your colours/gradients as a curve or 1dLUT , mark up the various different "material IDs" with vertex color and offset them with parameters on the material instance to index into the curve. bit of a waste of effort though imo :D
if you look up how to duplicate along a curve in maya you will see there is no simple dedicated method even in 2024. The go-to method still seems to be MASH. MASH is good because it gives you all the flexibility you could want, however it is a chore to setup and has a ton of disjointed parameters you have to tinker with.…
basically I need a Children curve that constraints to a point on the parent curve, which will follows the curve point/parameter as the parent curve moves and rotates. How do you guys go about doing this ? edit: maya 2011
Thank you! I do have some minor prior experience with a range of 3d apps and with Blender specifically. The most suitable element I found in Blender to do the job is the curve but I fail to produce an intersected curve which is crucial for my needs. Or in other words: I can`t manage to create a forking curve... Tried…
For each horizontal edge loop on this torso I have created a curve. I add the curves to a MASH network, then instance some leaf shape mesh along it, like so: I would like to adjust the roll amount for each specific curve, but it seems that I can only roll the meshes by adjusting the parent. Does anybody know, is there a…
