Maya 2024 Extrude Along Curve Broken?

Hello! Has anyone else noticed a bug in Maya 2024 when it comes to extruding along a curve? Am I missing something? When I add divisions, the mesh doesn't conform to the curve. I was trying to make a braid like weave and ended up doing it manually. I've restarted Maya, my computer, tried again in a new Maya file.. Curious if anyone else is experiencing this or knows a solve? I've reached out in my circles and no one knows/ is experiencing it on their end

Set the extrude tool's curve settings to "selected", and it should work as expected. "Edit>Save settings" in the extrude tool's window should save the option going forward.

if you mean to make braids, do you know about sweep mesh? its a lot easier to use for that
