I dont know if its my pen or zbrush but im starting to think its my pen and that sucks. Basically you know how you hold CTRL to drag out a mask? It seems like I cant do that for any period of time. If I were to make a simple mask square and drag it out, itll deselect. Its like I cant simply hold the mask there as a…
You can't apply Levels to a vector mask, only to a layer mask. Check what kind of mask you have. When you do it correctly, you'll see the mask listed in the Channel area, like this.
The cavity masking option in the brush palette doesn't seem to be working - only just noticed that as I'm using a lot of cavity polypainting at the moment. Mask by cavity in the masking menu is functioning but it's displaying the mask which is obstructing the view. Any ideas? Does anyone else have the same problem?
So I have the issue with my alphas being squished on the Zbrush Model. my current UVs is 2048 and my Alpha Mask is 2048; I sized my Alpha mask to the size of the UV of where I wanted it. but it became like this: was wondering if anyone had this issue and a fix for it
If you have two subtools overlapping one another is there a way to make one apply a mask at the areas where they intersect? Sort of like a boolean operation but instead of subtracting/adding geometry it subtracts/adds masks. A way to transfer masks between two objects with similar shapes would be useful too.
Okay so I'm stumped on a masking technique in Zbrush. I swear I've done it before but I can't remember. I'm basically trying to outline a mask. For ex: I make circle mask on a sphere. Then create the outline of that circle If you guys could help me out that would be great
I learned the other day you can: - alt+click between 2 layers to set up a clipping mask between the, - You can alt+click+drag a mask to another layer and it copy that mask to that layer. Alternately, if you drag on top of another mask, the dragged mask will replace it.
You absolutely can though. You can modify your masks by hand just by painting on the masks. You can even paint on the Albedo mask for whichever layer, and then click "duplicate mask to all channels" (i think that's what it's called) which will copy the mask into spec/normals/whatever.
Aye, doing the masks with vertex colours works and it's cheaper than hauling other mask maps around (though the masks can be a smaller resolution and you can use a channel per mask zone getting 4 mask zones in a single texture), but it's much harder to control and needs to be setup on a per character basis (whereas mask…
Gotta question about ZBrush masking. When I hold down control and drag, I get that nice masking box. When I hold down the spacebar I get that nice 4-arrow thingy that allows me to move that masking box anywhere I want it. Now, is there a way to essentially duplicate this masking box. Like I hold space, apply the mask where…
