Hi! Things you can try to get your hands dirty: * Bi-monthly challenge (any challenge really). Why it helps: fixed duration, concepts to work off, others potentially doing the same subject with perhaps different approach, gives reason to think about and articulate workflows. Fill additional parameters like style-specifics…
So I've been a troll of this forum for a while and haven't posted much, but I figure I should get started. This isn't where I wanted the end of this project to be, but I have found myself stuck and after working on this guy on and off for almost a year I need to just set him down. I learned a lot and hope to start a full…
do not decimate the sculpted meshes, ever. Puts some sort of "wave" into the normals and i dislike that so i do not ever decimate the sculpt, its a struggle on mid to lower tier pc's but if you want that extra ooph to stuff as i do, i do not decimate. that is just me. idk about others. (now i have a mid to mid high tier…
Hey guys, this is my first piece that I am really proud of and I spent a lot of time on even though I was sick. It was an assignment for my Materials & Lighting class at school, I managed to meet the deadline at the last second. :poly121: This scene was modeled and rendered in Maya 2012 with mental ray. The assignment was…
I'd second the Silo full version. As far as 3D modeling applications go, Silo is already pretty inexpensive. I believe it runs $159.99 at the moment. Not cheap, but a hell of a lot cheaper than other sculpting apps. The core version is close to half price, but you get a lot less out of it. If you don't want to pony up for…
Cheshire Sphinx I started sculpting for the Polycount Brawl competition which was such a cool idea, I didnt make it there, but I'm still chipping away with the idea from time to time, cats are hard! Attaching the concept I had: American McGee’s Alice Liddell 2025 - (CYBER)PUNK! - MAD (MAX) ALICE Although I only made the…
Hello all, this is my first ever post to polycount. I've been training myself in my free time for a year now. It took me a while but I'm starting to get the hang of it. I saw a job posting on a company's website and they publicly opened an art test. It was a medical bay equipment and a handheld equipment. After completing…
I think some has experienced this annoying thing that when trying to come with a quad mesh from Max to Maya or viceversa normal map sometimes doesnt get a good shading. When trying to bring a mesh baked in Max and viewed in Maya I realized that you can set in you mesh settings that you can achieve better results when…
Long story short i lost the pen and I am selling the tablet because my grandmother bought me a new one. $120 shipped for any of the 48 states, if you live somewhere else i can see how much shipping would cost because i have no idea. PM me first come first serve, any questions feel free to ask. PS sorry if this is the wrong…
Hey guys first post around these parts, it seems this is place to be when it comes down to game modeling and animation. I've been around 3dtotal and CGTalk for awhile and have learnt quite a bit. Essentially we have a bunch of assets all modeled and ready to go, i just want to get the thoughts of all the talented people on…
