I used speedtree for that. Speedtree creates billboard and material by itself. you can study it and create master material out of it and then you can create the billboard in a 3d package also and assign the baked textures.
Hey guys and gals, We've just implemented speedtree into our pipeline at work and I'm getting up to speed with the program. There's one things that's really bugging me ... when I bring the model of the tree into engine it sometimes can triangulate the cards badly and I was wondering if there was a way to triangulate the…
Hello! I have recently started using speedtree and but have ran into some trouble in UDK. No matter what i set my LOD-distances to, it makes no difference. The tree changes to billboard way too early. I have tried to reimport the tree with different settings from speedtree a couple of times, and also changing them in UDK…
Hey guys, i made my first tree in Speedtree and it looks decent for the first attempt but i got a little question on this. i got a normal green leave texture and changed inside of speedtree the color with the setting "color adjustment". this works quite well but when i export and save my tree out it wont appear in the…
I encountered a problem when importing the st. file into Unreal Engine 5. When I added the Wind Directional Source in UE5, the tree didn’t move. I wonder which step I did wrong. I tried many ways to fix it but haven’t resolved the problem yet. -I tried to add Speedtree or Speedtree Wind node to the World Position Offset in…
flaagan - hahaha that's not a bad idea! As for placing the tree's, I'm already aware and well tuned in that regard, I was just thinking Speedtree was involved in that process if/when you use Speedtree - and I'm glad its not :D
I have had similar problems in the past with speedtree. I think speedtree resets your vertex normals to defaults. On top of that unfortunately their built in vertex normal editing doesn't do the trick for most things.
Hey, So, we all know about SpeedTree, but I was wondering if there was a similar package that you could use for creating Rocks , formations and cliff faces etc? I saw one called Medusa but it doesn't seem to be quite 'there' yet. any ideas? cheers
