This environment benefited mostly from instancing. I have 2K textures on most medium/large foliage assets but it still runs fine on most PC's. 120FPS+ on mine. It was made into an actual working game called ithaca, which is a 20 minute exploration/psychological experience, mainly as an art showcase though. For the foliage,…
Hi Illbleed, You are welcome, but keep in mind this is only my own opinion and they are no right or wrong way to work as long as the production time and result are obtain in a lean way. I see many loosing an awful amount of time trying to reproduce a complicated pattern in SD when a good picture with the pattern would do…
UPDATE: Hey guys. After sometime from being away from doing lowpoly prop modeling, I'm officially back into it. A good buddy of mine, suggested I do an old radio and here it is at the highpoly stage. Still working on it. As far as presentation goes, I tried to figure out a lighting setup that would work. And this is what I…

if you look up how to duplicate along a curve in maya you will see there is no simple dedicated method even in 2024. The go-to method still seems to be MASH. MASH is good because it gives you all the flexibility you could want, however it is a chore to setup and has a ton of disjointed parameters you have to tinker with.…

A good friend of mine recently got himself a Roland Fantom-X8 keyboard, and is writing up a few songs on it (for me and for himself), and we're both a bit stumped as to how we're gonna get the songs off of the keyboard. I can access the keyboard via a usb cable, and I'm able to get at what we believe to be the song files,…
The seem looks like it's coming from your normal map contribution to the baked lighting. Your UV1 and your UV2 tangents are different. Broken/rotated 90 degrees... Try rotating your lightmap uvws for the top of the canister 90 degrees and baking it again... if that doesn't fix it, try making your UV1 and your UV2 more…
