Hello I will be buying myself probably another computer, dedicated to graphics calculations (rendering, photogrammetry computing, even video rendering and probably some simulations calculations (liquids etc.). So the PC will be used purely as "render machine" to put it simply. It will be running 23 hours a day (1 hour for…
Hey guys, I recently did a course for creating realistic plants (botanically correct) in SpeedTree( and soon GrowFX) I thought I'd share some of the final images with you. A little about the scene : Over 120 different species of plants was specially built just for this this scene from scratch, which include moss, grass,…
Hi all this is my first time posting here, but I've been aware of the site for a long time. I've been working on this piece for awhile now and needed some input as to how to improve it. http://i464.photobucket.com/albums/rr8/PimpaliciousSupreme-O-Bomb/Render2.jpg,…
Hello! I don't have harsh words but hopefully I have useful a critique. You're showing an ortho view of the sculpt. Did you also sculpt in ortho? This can be very challenging and look wrong once you switch to the target focal length in perspective. When working from references look up "focal length portrait" to get a sense…
I generate tangents/binormals with mesh mender as well. There is not a lot of normalmap useage in my projects so far, so I havent had a lot of testcases, chances are it will haunt me again. Per helps me with some more "production" like models, will see how the tests go with them. However the other coder who originally…
Insane level of detail, nice job! What are you rendering in? It looks like you're using only point or directional lights, as the unlit parts are pure black, like under his right eyebrow. I wonder if adding an IBL would help this. Looks a lot like Wes Studi, was he an inspiration for the face?
My first real venture into high poly modelling. Modeled, and mostly textured within blender. Rendered with Blender's Cycles rendering engine. Render took about 7 minutes.
Hi! Here are some notes: * Unfortunately the ground introduces noise which takes away from an otherwise nice model. A solid color or gradient background might be a quick alternative. * Metal looks quite bright in the render, like it's rough aluminum. * The lamps on the sides look a bit flat, missing some gradient like on…
Everyone has different workflows so how you use Maya and ZBrush is completely up to you. For example, organic stuff I either work from a simple base mesh that I create in Maya or from ZSpheres in ZBrush. Hard surface stuff I tend to do all in Maya but if I needed a small complex design on a panel or something I would pop…
