Nice model JoshuaC. Mind you I've never made a gun actually so I don't know the AKS-74u, but the modelling looks solid. Any plans to bake this onto low(er)poly and maybe get some wear and scratches on there?
overall pretty good, but the shape of the foregrip and muzzle brake are considerably off, and i'm not sure about the shape of the dust cover. more renders please! (:
everything looks pretty good. some things here and there but overall it's a strong piece. if you're going to end up making this into a low poly, you're going to want to loosen up a lot of those edgeloops to get a nice bake.

Sadly I couldn't find any other references for the muzzle break, so I just had one real full reference to go off. The dust cover is accurate, atleast to the real life reference I own.
Oh man, why couldn't I of found that site a few days ago!
Here's the image I referenced the most. I figured what I was doing wasn't exactly standard for the make of the gun, but I'll have to keep that in mind next time I do one of these things.
Ah, ok. That's not actually an aks-74u. The aks-74u is specifically an official russian military weapon, but there are a bunch of knockoff versions from outside russia. That one in particular is in 7.62x39mm instead of 5.45x39mm, which is the older caliber. Which also explains the underfolding stock.

I'll see about nabbing a few more angles.
heres some pics that helped me:

The mag looks very long, almost like an rpk74 mag.
The aks-74u was never made with an underfolding stock, its only sidefolding. Also the rear of the receiver probably shouldn't slope in like that.
The front sight looks a bit low.
Other than that, solid modelling.
