I have a procedurally generated landscape system for a strategy game I'm working on and would like some critique on how I can make it look more accurate and realistic. The set up consists of tiled 2d sprite textures that exist within a 3d environment. The mountains pop up out of the ground plane and cast shadows on to it.…
When ever i try to add a generator to my layers, it bugs out and the material becomes black and white with really strange inverted normals (texture). does anyone know why this is happening? Here are some screenshots Simple setup; two fill layers, top one is cast iron bottom one is rust Add metal edge wear for testing…
Hi everyone! I made a tileable pattern generator with maxscript which can be used to create a base for creating textures. The script will soon be available on Gumroad! Feel free to leave your thoughts in the comment section below, cheers! :awesome: http://vimeo.com/181299789…

Does anyone know the average texture size for cube maps(per face) in current generation console games??? ie. I hear rumblings of 512 sq. each face. edit: I meant for Skyboxes....

does anyone know if there are any free generic models out there that are good for prototyping a game? I don't care as much about textures, but having a bipedal character with a basic walk animation would be great. I was hoping to use a model like this to prototype a couple ideas i have for games in unity3d, xna, or UDK. so…
Thanks for taking to time. how would I create a node with outputs from a rock generator i created. Im trying to fallow a Daniel Thiger video and am stumped how he did it. Hope I/it makes sense.
Usually I make the lowpoly mesh to however I want it to be, then add loops and whatnot to it so that I can turn on SubDs for smoothing. This is giving me some errors that prevents me from baking though, but I don't know why, so... how do you generate your high poly meshes for normal mapping?
Hi everyone, I'm trying to make my website a little easier to navigate, and to do so I would like to have each image in my gallery to open an HTML file instead of the image itself in a new window. Does anyone know if there's a free program that will let me generate an HTML page for every image using an HTML template I…
