I’ve been trying to get cleaner highlight flow on this model, but I keep running into issues where the highlights feel muddy or break abruptly — especially on larger surfaces and edges. I’m working in Toolbag using HDRI + a few lights. From a modeling standpoint the surfaces should be clean, but the highlight flow still…
Hi! Haven't been on the forums in a while. Good to be back! I'm looking for some good hand painting texture tutorials. I remember there being a thread that listed a whole bunch of tutorials including hand painting ones, but I can't seem to find it after a good amount of searching. Am I just blind? Where did it go? Any…
Not the same... true.. but I still know my password by hard. I feel not like posting Art that much here anymore bc there is no real interaction going on. On the other hand I'm probably making more art than back then. Still got my current job through pc 5 years ago - I'd say the page still worth it! I'm more active on…
Im just wondering what would be the most efficient and best method of producing hand painted textures. Allow me to elaborate. I have recently painted a wall texture of bricks in photoshop. I am content with it, its not perfect but its really only a test so that I can work out a method that suits me. My inclination would be…
Hey beesonmann, Thanks! I've invested a good bit of time in this character, but I want to make sure everything is right before I move on. I see what you mean about the "balloony" hands and fingers. I think adjusting the mesh will help along with some hand painted shading on the insides of the fingers and joints. I'll play…

Does anybody have any tips or comments on…
Take a good look at your hands, fingers shouldn't be the same size, a lot of sculptors even pose them slightly different to give the hand a more natural/relaxed shape. But if you really insist on having the same size fingers on your hands, then making one and copying it three times sounds like the easiest way.
(Updated after posting, old email wasn't working. Please re apply if you see this.) Hi all, I'm the founder of a small indie studio building a first-person co-op restaurant management sim in Unreal Engine 5. Think the hands-on cooking loop of the popular "job sim" games, but with real management depth: skills, staff,…
they suddenly interest me. Id like to learn how. Im already ok at making normal textures: http://i232.photobucket.com/albums/ee214/wareznoob/train_diff-1.jpg?t=1269503186 Are there any tuts (video or text) out there that explain the theory and practice of hand painted textures? edit: when i say "hand painted" I also mean…
