When texturing a symmetrical creature like this in Mari, is it possible to paint half of it, and mirror it over to the other half, thus saving some time?
Hi, I'd just thought I'd chip in to say that Mari is in heavy use at every major US, London and Australian VFX / CG facility. It is also the texturing system that LucasArts are using on Level1313. LucasArts have a really nice workflow in which they use their in-game shaders in Mari so they have 100% WYSIWYG between Mari…
This is looking heaps gooder dude. Much better face structure. I'm not sure if you are aware but The Foundry made Mari free for non-commercial projects. I personally found the Mari workflow much nicer for getting these displacements to sing. Grab Mari here…

It's a fresh Mari installation with the latest update selecting the object makes no difference. *Selecting the object makes no difference. **Uv's are…
So I have been doing some research about other texturing sofwares like Mari, Substance painter and Mudbox. Substance Painter seems to be quite popular especially with udim now added and multi channel painting. Mari does not support multi channel painting but supports huge udim painting. Would appreciate texture artists…
@melviso Of course Mari has a node based workflow, which is extremely powerful; it may be expensive but it's worth it. I hope more other render engine shaders come to Mari like the Octane shader and RedShift among a few others; there is talk they are coming. Last but not least is the Mari extension pack, Jens Kafitz is a…
Another test using DDO, i forgot to tell you that above pictures are textured in Mari, so...i think i`ll go with a combination of ddo and Mari, DDo for fast scratches and Mari to break up the ddo "look". Thanks,
