Okay I've got a couple of questions regarding local transforms in Max. I think I'm doing something wrong. It seems that Max's local transform coordinates only work half of the time on edges for me. Allow me to illustrate what I'm used to in another package (Softimage): Is there perhaps an option I am missing for this? Also…
Its always the same. Straighten what you want straight, locally relax the rest to follow that straight edge. You could pin it, or like i do, just exlcude it from your selection
In my keyboard shortcuts I see an option to map "local-relative transform" to a key and "world relative transform". Am I overlooking an option to toggle between the two orientations? My goal is to press a key and watch my widget alternate between local and world orientation.
I used to be able to snap my CV curve tool to the local rotation axis of an object my I can't anymore. All it does now is try to snap to the closet vertex on the screen, I used to press V to snap it to the local rotation axis. Can help?
Hey, I was wondering if someone could tell me how to choose local axis to rotate an object in MotionBuilder instead of the global axis. Thanks in advance.
Haha seems i need to make a more explicit tutorial! If you notice there is a swatch on the right of the local colour. Also there is local mode that displays the picker as the local colour not the lit colour. I find both are useful for different reasons.
