If the UVs are stacked, Substance will overlay the AO results of both, making it appear black. Try unstacking mirrored faces by offsetting them -1 outside the UV 0,1 frame. Note: any lowpoly faces outside the UV frame will not project its highpoly reference to the bake.
Am working on a customized HK-416 rifle. I have just finished the highpoly model of it and still working on its lowpoly. Most of the model is modeled traditionally with sub-d modeling inside 3ds max and then got everything polished in Zbrush. Your feedback regarding anything is always appreciated!.

Hey polycounters! My new model, Ogre for Witchfire game by The Astronauts. Lowpoly mesh is about 100k tris, textured in Substance. Hi guys, I've been trying to find a thread where someone put an example of optimization for a lowpoly tank for DS specs. He did with the tank UVWmap something like this: Changed this: To this: He flipped the maps outside the main map, my question is how I do this? I can't find that thread :/
Hey - I intend to unwrap my lowpoly head this way - but I'm not sure if it will create a normalmap seam along the edge? Can I just flip the mesh and uvs to one side, attach and bake? Or do I need to bake first and then flip mesh and uvs and attach? Thx for any input :)
Hello After baking complete light i get only diffuse texture without a shadows or light. When i am disabling visibility of highpoly model (which i dont have, just using lowpoly as hp), it gives me a black color texture What am I doing wrong?

i have this maya file with a highpoly and a lowpoly , all of them i deleted non deforming and regular history, freezed all transforms , but for some reason the file keeps getting bigger and slower and i cant use it to work like this , what do you guys think it could be ?
