Hi everyone, I'd like to create a forest scene in Maya. However, before starting, I was wondering if someone could walk me through the workflow of creating a forest with the intention of using it in a high-poly industry (ie. commercials / film / television series). After doing a bit of research, there seem to be a variety…
So I recently updated to 2019 installed things to default directories and made sure the GoZ path was correct. If I press the GoZ button on any subtool it will send over the mesh just fine. When selecting another subtool to send over..it does nothing. Restarting Maya, I can click the Visable or All button for GoZ and…
So I have question about scaling inside of Maya. I've imported a Solidworks model way too small. So I wanted to scale it up to the correct size (tried uniform scaling via group, tried scaling at the component level), and the mesh turns to poop in the viewport. Now I'm totally just going to re-import the model into Maya…
Hello, longtime Maya user, but only recently I've started working with VRay at my job with a few hiccups so far. Need to learn/improve with VRay as I need to reach super realistic renders of server hardware and related tech (which due to work I can't show) I'm used to going back and forth in Maya, tweaking materials,…
Tried it today, works really well! However the first time I installed it, I put it in "My Documents/maya/2008/", and it didn't detect the Python file properly. I suspect Maya's default pythonPath environment variable isn't set up right, since when I just put it in "My Documents/maya/" it all worked fine. I did notice a…

I have Maya LT 2018.3 and Unreal Engine 4.19. I have a skeletal mesh character with a base mesh and 4 LOD. They are all skinned to same skeleton and control rig. I exported using FBX 2016/2017 inside of Game Exporter in Maya LT. When I import to UE4, I checked "Import LODs" and the base mesh looks great with the material…
Do you guys use Maya LT? If yes; anyone used the new "send to unity" workflow? Does it work nice? Also does the latest maya lt 2014 extension 2 fully supports MEL? Thank you.
Alright Maya is driving me nuts to do the most simple actions. Not going to rant but in an attempt to not throw my pc into the wall... All I wanted to do was bridge between two edge loops that's all. THAT'S IT HOW MANY BUGS COME FROM SUCH A... no no.. calm.. It was the first action on my model in Maya so no need to worry…
if you look up how to duplicate along a curve in maya you will see there is no simple dedicated method even in 2024. The go-to method still seems to be MASH. MASH is good because it gives you all the flexibility you could want, however it is a chore to setup and has a ton of disjointed parameters you have to tinker with.…
