This year im going for a norm warlord. Want to make a huge king of the mountain. Good luck everyone, looking forward to be working with you.

here is a quick speed sculpt of trying better shapes. this one is allright but not nearly oirignal. going to try some variations tonight.
I have decide that this king of the mountains, sleeps in his halls untill his people needs him and wakes him from his eternal slumber. When the foe is defeated he goes back to sleep, just waiting for the next threat to emerge and he is called for again.
To wake him the eldars need to complete a summoning rite to wake him up. This holyplace is acctually on the kings left shoulder.
It might be that hes turning away from a norm warlord....But hes still just a giant that only prowers are martial. His hammer is his main focus of power. Havent decided what kind of power it got though.
Here is a quick paint over.
Want to represent his size with the fact that he have a balcony on his shoulder with stairs amd birds that follow him around.
the colour dodge thingy just took over there for a while so might tone down the glowingness a bit.
Like a hardcore version of the giant in Dunderklumpen

Going to work some more tonight, the work over lunch was a complete failur that ended in a crash...
Been thinking it would be cool to have something that pulls him to the ground even more than his weight so adding a massive tombstone that drags him down even futher would be nice. Dont ask me why but think that it connects him to the mountain and ground more.
He weilds a bellhammer. When he swings and hits something the bell goes "dooooooong" and sends an extra punch to the impact. If its weight and size doesnt do the trick the bell will take care of the rest.

and indeed you''re going very fast..i prefer concepting in zbrush too as it gives a better idea of the volume in every angle...the weight looks nice from front, but from behind i think you should make him rest more on his hips. that will make him seems more in controle despite the weight of the Hammer.

I really like the crystals and his bulkiness, although I think you could maybe even exaggerate the proportions a bit more?
Also I really liked that he had a large belt in the early concepts since it divided the shapes somewhat. Although that might destroy the sense of scale I guess.
Anyways looking forward to seeing your progress!

Maybe consider putting Greentooth to another place?
Right now he looks rather young to me. Are you planning to make him look more aged later, like cracks and more contrasting shapes in the face or something like that?

Yup definitly going to do put a focal there, but it will be an alter where they wake him from his slumber. a tree might not be a dum idea acctually, like a small and gnarly lithle thing next to the stairs on his back.....hmmm. i need to have a think about it. audi100: Yea think hes just going to appear on the Irontombstone and maybe on the bellhammer. For now hes just a placeholder for the alter.
AimBiZ: Good points, but he wont get any longer. Want him to have a low point of gravity. The cracks will come later on, might even give him some old wounds from previuos battles. Also going to have vegetation that hangs from his limbs and head. Pixlegoat was talking about a crown so might try that to.

working on getting him to look more rocky. Legs got a pass on them as well.
Yeah small clusters of rocks in a few places would be interesting. I like the tree on his back.. that's a nice touch
