My name is Eric and I work in the Game Development Lab at the Academy of Art University in San Francisco, CA. I work with incredibly talented students whom will one day RULE the digital art world!
I've known about Polycount for QUITE a while now. Strangely enough I only now thought it'd be beneficial to make an account of my own. I'm hoping that discussions and critiques between me and the other users on here might help me improve - which'd be swell, because I seem to be stuck in improvement limbo for the time being.
I've heard many great things about Polycount, and after lurking for a few months I finally got around to making an account. I'm currently a high school student at a major-based school studying 3d Animation, and I am also college bound! I love to draw and make 3d works, and make mini games both as a hobby, and for school projects.
Learning to improve my rendering and modeling skills. Specifically Sci-Fi environment. I don't have too much experience working from concept art, so as a start I hope to improve/get tips on how to translate 2d concept art into 3d. ie, shortening and etc. subjects on the topic.
I mostly work with Blender 3D but I have worked with Lightwave 3D. My next step will probably to get a new commercial package for 3d, such as 3D Studio or Maya, but I have to find out first what I'm getting myself into. So all in all, I have looked at many threads here and hope to learn some more.
