I like this idea so much, someone should get on it!
My wife is very into pintrest, and loves dota, I will ask her if she would like to start a board incorporating crazy fashion and other things that could help for reference/ inspiration
I know anuxi said she liked to look at super ridiculous fashion designs for interesting looking shapes or something
Yeah, I remember some stuff like that while watching her stream about a year ago haha
It's pretty interesting how many great ideas you can get from unrelated stuff.
I'm not really sure how Pinterest boards work, since I pretty much only search for references instead of pinning stuff, but I think that I made a board, and apparently I have to invite people to pin stuff there, so whoever is interested in doing so, feel free to ask here or on Pinterest.
Missed kite's post! Would be way better to have someone that understands how Pinterest works to manage this kind of stuff, so feel free to ignore my link if you or your wife want to create another board

Looks like I'm not alone. Basically Pinterest is all about archiving your references in one place. You can pin images from elsewhere (fashion bloggers, tumblr etc) into your board, or the ones in the site.
that's one of the best themed couriers I've ever seen

Kraken, not trying to sound harsh here, the dog is awesome but the name doesn't use correct English right now. "Butch the Pudge's doggy" should be something like "Butch, Pudge's Doggy" or "Pudge's Doggy, Butch"
Evidently it isn't having any effect on the votes though! Wow, it's doing amazingly and deservedly so. Just thought you might want to know about the name.
@Kraken - That Pudge courier is down right amazing, really nice work! I agree think just calling it "Butch the dog" or something like that works just fine, it's easily recognizable as Pudge's lil buddy from it's design.
@Prosomogy - Nice weapon for Slardar, the only thing I'd maybe try is giving it a slight purple/blue tint on the blade end but the "bone" shading works well as is!
@kite212 - Cool idea for a bow, it does however look slightly heavy, maybe shrink the size/thin it out a bit?
Just finished making another ward, called Eye of Thunderkeg. It's based around Storm Spirit.
As much as I love the idea, as a ward there are some serious issues in game. Firstly, the eyeball is hidden a good majority of the time which in chaotic battles is going to make this ward very hard to spot as a ward. The other issue I see with it is the texture, in that, from the top down view when he it leans forward and fully obstructs the eye, they look identical. The change in color on the brim of the hat doesn't make them distinct enough. And you can't even see the gem on the collar in game. That could be problematic, although a simple solution is to just shift the hue to a warmer color.
I honestly don't know how you can avoid obstruction of the eyeball from the top down angle with that design, but it's something to consider.
Like I said, I love this design, I think it's really cool, but functionality in game is an issue. Good Luck!
Been recently working on this courier, currently named "Mav the Mole Miner"
Still playing around with colour variations and adding in details however was after some feedback if possible. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated, thanks!
I would try and use some more UV space, it's a shame to let all that space get lost. At those small textures you want to use every space possible.
The handle is a perfect part to brake the UV's without making it to obvious, also sharp corners are a good place to brake up UV's. I made you an example. I also made the blue a bit more saturated, I think that makes it stand out some more..

Until I use the hook and it goes wonkers. Now I'm pretty sure the fix is pretty simple, but I have no clue.
