im working on a rikimaru set and used that rar package from valves workshop site... now i extracted the data from dota 2 itself and damn everything is different the silhouette the topology and the uvs my whole set is not fitting anymore.... if it would be ingame i would RAGE QUIT now :P but i guess that is not the best option now:D
so what is the real deal now?! the decompiled data?
They updated his model and textures not too long ago. I guess they forgot to update the reference files.
Also, if anyone wants it, I'm going to pass out the rig I made for sniper, it's nothing special, but if anyone else wants to use it, feel free to download it from this link.
Finally submitted an item I finished during the Workshop at the International. It's been through a lot of revisions since I didn't really have a concept going in, so this is where it landed! I'm probably going to turn this into a set for Lion, seeing as I really like the idea of Lion turning more demonic as the match continues. Level 1 is intentionally pretty blank, allowing for the other evolutions to have more of an impact. Anyway, here's what I made!
edit: Crap! I thought of a good way to tie the levels together better without impacting the poly budget too much. Gonna take down the submission, and then re-add tomorrow.
Taskmaster and Skeletor inspired Clinkz set I'm working on, more 'ranger' like from his days protecting the Hoven lands. Thinking of searing his cloak and hood a bit for the texture.
I was thinking of finishing out the two Enchantress items I I recently completed into a full set. I wanted to elaborate with the tropical theme I started and work in some slight art deco inspiration as well. I want to keep hints of the new pinkish-red color to balance out all the orange and green, but keeping it minimal. This is what I came up with:
Item imports correctly 100% I mean it's on the workshop and all that. However when I play in game... no textures. any ideas? Only run into this with alchemist...
We did it! Even tough it's highly unlikely that i have gotten anything into the chest, I'm sincerely proud of what we all together have achieved here and that Valve is likes our ideas. Great work everyone! :thumbup:

Those items will most likely be what are inside the rubiline chest (hence the key being in that update too). Who knows what is inside the polycount chest though..
edit: I also wonder how they will deem an item's affiliation with polycount? I guess it will be a part of the monthly tournaments or any items posted in this workshop thread.

The way the cape is sitting is very odd looking. It seems like you placed it in the middle of the scarf, which isn't really possible. Maybe move it a bit down so it's underneath the scarf.

I can't get my mesh to orient the right way in the importer. It's in the right location but just rotated on some weird axis.
I'm exporting from Blender.
I've tried adjusting everything that I know how to adjust. tried XYZ up and legecy button on the SMD export - nothing is working.
I'll try and post some pics.

It turns out my skeleton was wonky. The bones all had the wrong rotation axis (I think)
My fault for using a Blender FBX import script. I'll stick with SMD.
