Finally tried sculpting for the first time! Sculptris has a option for Lazy Mouse... best tool ever if you're using a mouse! This is way to much fun ahaha, the best.
Here's some updated progress. Got some mats 'n textures in there and messed with lighting and post fx. Lots to finish. Nothing is final as of now, just trying to get everything accounted for first.
Holy crap dougjuno, I thought I was looking at a ref photo at first glance, nice work! Is that in UDK? one question, how you did you place all that junk in the scene? gravity?
PDC, nice design, I love the "feet". I think the head could use more interest though, as focus is drawn elsewhere

This is awesome. Would love to know your workflow and how you placed all the objects and bent them and stuff.
I AM SLOW, but it's actually a low poly now, all baked, working on the diffuse
I think I maybe love normal map bevels a little too much, also I don't know what to do with the floaty part, it'll probably be glowy.
2332 tris is a bit high but it'll do.
It's 387 and it's like 0,7-1m.. I should take it down to 100 or something..
EDIT: 100 seems pretty low for something decently large that (I'm assuming) you'll see up close. Maybe just split the difference and bring it down around 2-250. Looking pretty solid so far, I like it!
the topology is awful, those poles on the forhead and below the nose are really, really bad, will produce shading errors and will be hard to animate right without bumps- if this is for sculpting it will be fun working around those poles :X
passerby - Looks awesome so far! are those gaps on the bottom going to be windows?
cause that stuff gets me hard.
still working in idea for the ceiling and the remaining bits of the floor.
was thinking glass with some pipes running underneath or a grate with some pipes underneath.
though that could be a while from now i want to do some LP's and test bakes since i got a feeling that some of my edges are too sharp to effect the normal map.
Been working on this Microwave/Coffee Maker machine. I hope to be done this week, not much left (door, brewing thingy on the top, finishing the pot [stout and modifying the handle] and the back). Feedback would be appreciated.
Latest work on my Maschinen Krieger piece.
High poly all set up now, need some more work on the pilot and minor edges here and there but mostly done. Will take a break over the next 2-3 days to work on my theatre then back on to get the low res and bakes done.

Robot character for a Unity game. This is my first time character modelling in a current gen workflow, so its slow-going, but I'm learning a lot

for this kinda of HP work do you just do bases meshes in maya than zbrush it or you do some of it only in maya with subsurfaces like the metal trim.
The onyl thing that's maya 100% is the windows. The roof trim is maya and 5 min zbrush.. For everything else it's just the bases from maya..
Making a texture map for some flat mapping fun
The level im working on -
what they mean?
Looks nice, I've always had trouble with cardboard textures for some reason.
I suppose it's the specular I do wrong. But yeah, they look good.
