So pretty much done with this couch. Here's some current pictures of the model and especially of the back which I hadn't posted before.
I moved the middle foot forward a bit and fixed a handful of things.
I've started on another model I'll post in a minute, just wanted to post a finished render of that couch first.
I plan on detailing it some more with wrinkles in zbrush but here's how it looks now.
Yeah I'm going to create a low poly from this high poly. I'm actually trying to make a handful of high poly objects first and then create the low polys.
Working on the inside of the car. It's hard to take a screen shot with everything else showing so I'll just post a picture of the parts I'm working on.
sweet jesus you modelled the details entirely in maya?
Is this a test of your subD methods or do you genuinely not have access to sculpting programs?
This is great work
Stephanie, I'm quite excited for you doing props right there and showing off results, keep them coming. You are doing them fast and with good modeling quality too. My main concern is that some of the seams on the car, in between the plates, you could have a bit sharper edge to match the material in the ref.
Darkleopard- Hah thank you, I doubt I'll be recording anything any time soon though. For one, I'm not entirely sure how to go about that. But I'm really not doing anything fancy just sub-d modeling all the shapes out.
I keep on slacking and not updating this as often as I'd like. I'll try to be better about that this week. Finally working on making the low poly versions of these. I've started on the cart, I'll post images of that when they're done but here's more or less how the high poly ended up.
You are just legendary. Marvelous work. I would hope some day you'd be willing to share a few tips with us on how you model such complex shapes over curved surfaces.
Kon Artist- Yeah I love Maya :] The render was done with Modo though
Jessica Dihn- Thank you!
Makkon- Haha you guys make me feel so special, I really didn't expect so much positive feed back,it's just sub D modeling I don't feel legendary or anything.... But thank you so much!
Dirigible- Hey, thank you! I'm not sure how you came across my page and if you actually know who I am, but we've actually kinda met before up at UTD. It's nice to see you on here!
Madwish- Thank you! I also can't wait to see how the lowpolys come out! :]
ZombieWells- Haha I couldn't help but imagine a zombie saying "sweeet" when I read your post.... lol. Thank you

@Aga22- Yeah someone else also just pointed that out to me, I hadn't noticed I'd placed it in a little deeper then the original. Thank you!

I am so glad you went back on the cushions, I was about to comment but it fixed it. I love seeing nice clean high polys like this.

bugo- Thank you, which plates are you referring to?
Yesterday I started working on this.
And here's how that's going:
Finally got the renders looking pretty, I'll probably go back and fix the car later it looks pretty ugly compared to this one now.
Thank you! Hah, I sit at home on my computer all day. I just graduated from a university recently .
I'll probably turn the reflections down the next time I render, I can tell it's starting to become a problem.
(I think your models look really good and I am totally subscribing to this amazing thread)
Can't wait to see those in low poly.
