Ratchet and clank stylish enemy. Doesn't really like how the colors look like when you use color blending mode on color layers above the bw. Need to practise colouring.
And also i'm going to buy a new tablet now i'm using an old wacom volito 2, not wery good pressure you need to press really hard and my hand sometime start to hurt:\. So im thinking about buying a wacom intuos 4 S or M. What are you guys using and any tips for buying a tablet?
S_ource I love the look on that bird, like it don't give a FUCK! x)
But regarding a Wacom tablet, i bought the new Intous 5, and i REALLY recommend it! An intous 5 M is in the same cost class as an intous 4 s, so i really recommend the new series! It works Amazing! In my school we got the intous 4, and well, my board slaps those right on their faces! So from my experience, get a Wacom Intous 5, i got a medium. It is really worth the buying. :poly121:
TwoFlower: Love your environment speeds! Aiconx: Nice! S_ource: Been using a large Intuos that I like, but I can't comment on the other tablets, heh.
Today I give you some "horror".
Pardons for the craptastic presentation and quality. This is yesterdays sketching. Was so sunny outside I decided to take my sketchbook, a bottle of sencha green tea and venture outside
No you wont need it. I have an Intuos 4 M in school and a smaler Bamboo tablet at home, it works just fine. I know that Sinix still works with an really old tablet and he is spitting out awesome stuff :P
Ive seen that vid, but i heard that the tips on the intuos 4 just tear down so fast and easily, anyone know if it does it on the five? I thought i could buy a decent tablet and have it for years without to upgrade to new ones often.
Erik: really like the rendering of your car and the color choice
The thing i feel that throws it of abit is that its supposed to be a hover car and then i would expect the gloving parts of the "wheels" to be slightly tilted so that would emit a force that would be able to propell the car forward
day 57 thumbnail 8, vehicles are hard will continue doing some of the thumbnails
Erik you should really tilt those hover engines more out from the vehicle.
But here is an update on the dragon thing in the cemetery.
I reckon to be completely done in a few days, do not give it as much time
Yupp yupp, will add one later on with 4 cars (the finished picture)
About tablets: Honestly there isnt that big a difference between Intuois 4 and 5, and changing "nibs" is hardly costly (Also I have been using the same nib for about six months now without problem)
Here is my Day 126, some quick stuff I drew on the buss -
Soo got a test coming up and as always i did the only sensible thing to do when you have to study hard for a test. Watch comedy shows and draw speedpaintings while trying to forget that i have a test coming up. And if i try to forget it hard enough hopefully it will just vanish.
Hey there mates! I got some thumbnails for my personal transport. Tell me which one you think and which one i should use. I did it on like 10 minutes, so they are really messy.
Twoflower: You need to work a bit more on blending the for/back/midground on your paintings. And remember that the further away something is the more desaturated and blury it becomes. Nice work though, cool light on those tower/monoliths.
aiconx: Nice! always wanted to see wolverine riding an unicorn
Erik: Will keep that in mind. your characters are looking better and better. really liked that guy with the hat in your day 126. Reminds me of that sweet lowpoly neon samurai hooverboard dude ^^
day 59 should have blurried the mountains that are farthest away..
Nuclear_Angel: Daaamn man your skills are evolving fast! How long did it take to make the dragon in the cementery? About your latest pic, I think it would benefit if you render some epic clouds in the sky. There's a lot of great tutorials floating around on drawing clouds (pretty easy once you get the hang of it).
Keep up the great work all of you guys! Very nice thread to follow!
ErikNilsson: I pretty much suck at drawing so yeah, as soon as my vacation starts I might join the thread! Right now I'm busy modeling a new character and releasing my very first game this week (wohooo!)
TF: really like how the straightness of the bridge complements the landscape
Day 10
a landscape sketch
I've also been trying to learn how to draw with my non dominant hand, so here's a little sketch with my left. Think I'm gonna start doing one with the right and one with the left each day, to work up some ambidexterity
Chronoxios: Thanks so much for the feedback, i have looked up some cloud tutorials, and also today i sat outside staring at the sky like a high guy. The dragon cemetery thing i have been working on for about 3 to four hours give or take. Later today i will finish my cemetery, and tomorrow i do the challenge of the week. Going dancing tonight! :poly121:
Here is this day piece:
I use lovecastle.org myself, but pixelovely seems like a good spot too! Got a tip recently about http://artsyposes.com/. Haven't looked at it too much but seems promising
So i did my vehicle thing, and i t taught me, i need to draw more vehicles, i am rather bad at it. And i did not like the end result to much at all, the color scheme is to yellow, but done is done.
So I will draw more vehicles from now, space ships and so on, to learn about it.
I'm a student from Hungary. I'd tag along if you don't mind. (I might just fail drawing every day as my exams are coming up but trying can only help I guess)
Thanks guys so much for the responses. My problem is that i never ever draw vehicles, so i guess i am gonna put down my focus on that now! More vehicles will come up this coming week. So please give me criticism and help me out! Thanks in advance, i will improve the vehicles! Promise.
And Erik, damn those vehicles look mint!
Aiconx, i love the idea of a drawing with each hand, it looks amazing, good job! The right eye of the right hand painting could get another perspective, but keep working.
Erik: Upper car looks great! Something about the shading makes the lower one seem all squeezed. o.O Aiconx: Nice sketches there! Twoflower: Try using more yellows since it's a bright day (not much clouds) and more blues in the shadows! The sky gradient looks great!

So here it is, around 30 minutes of love
And Erenik, is that a like Duocorn Rabbit? It is way scarier than the tree!
56 dumping some crazy alchemy thumbnails for vehicles before im heading to bed
Day 23
A captain and his sealdog
Not to happy with this rendering. I really need to get a new tablet my hands hurt when i draw for a while not very pleasant.
S_ource: Cool to see more from you! Awesome!
Twoflower: 9, 7, 10.
Here is one of my hover cars:
Nuclear Angel: Something like that :P

Day 24
A quick bike from ref
But here is an update on the dragon thing in the cemetery.
I reckon to be completely done in a few days, do not give it as much time
Edit, forgot the title! Dang
This one was really speedy, took me like 7 minutes.
About tablets: Honestly there isnt that big a difference between Intuois 4 and 5, and changing "nibs" is hardly costly (Also I have been using the same nib for about six months now without problem)

day 58
Day 25
Oh, and I think that the goblin would have needed some more work, haha. Thanks for feedback!
Day 9
Twoflower: You need to work a bit more on blending the for/back/midground on your paintings. And remember that the further away something is the more desaturated and blury it becomes. Nice work though, cool light on those tower/monoliths.
NA: Number 8 and number 1 for me!
Although the mountains could be pushed back a bit more.
Day 127 - (Worked at Nordic Game conference today and yesterday so here is some more sketches, will be back with some cars tomorrow)
aiconx: Nice! always wanted to see wolverine riding an unicorn
Erik: Will keep that in mind. your characters are looking better and better. really liked that guy with the hat in your day 126. Reminds me of that sweet lowpoly neon samurai hooverboard dude ^^

Daily 26
kinekun: Your sketches are improving a lot, keep it up!
Everyone is improving, each work just gets finer and finer. I love this thread!
Keep up the great work all of you guys! Very nice thread to follow!
Chronoxios: Thanks man! Great to hear, feel free to join in if you feel like it!
Thought I would share this with you guys http://www.pixelovely.com/gesture/figuredrawing.php
I haven't looked into it myself really but I'm gonna try it when I have some time. Practice makes perfect, right?
I use this one myself - http://www.lovecastle.org/draw/
Hope everythink goes well with the game :P
Day 10

Some random faces for day 27
Here is my final pic, day 128:
So I will draw more vehicles from now, space ships and so on, to learn about it.
I'm a student from Hungary. I'd tag along if you don't mind. (I might just fail drawing every day as my exams are coming up but trying can only help I guess)
Day 1 : I have no idea how to draw a face...
Angel: your vehicle looks really flat atm, think you would benefit from doing some value studies
hey aleon! that head looks better than any head i have ever drawn :S
day 61
Deviantart is a pretty good source for ref photos!
Right hand
Left hand
Angel: I agree with Twoflower, more material defenition plz! Is it metal, glas or plastic? more highlights! ;D
Still dec pic, its just alla about practice
Nice pic Twoflower. Mountins a bit flat, to much detail I think. Also, your clouds are very flat compared to how nice bend you have on the ground.
Aleon: Welcome! And thats a really nice head-start Ha-ha-ha, just keep at it man, just study som faces and heads and watch some tutorials ^^
aiconx: Nice poses and characters there!
Day 129:
And Erik, damn those vehicles look mint!
Aiconx, i love the idea of a drawing with each hand, it looks amazing, good job! The right eye of the right hand painting could get another perspective, but keep working.
daily 27
