Hey Luke, interesting idea. You've got a good start, although the textures are looking kinda flat. Try and simulate some sub surface coloration. Add some variances to break the surface detail. Also the even glossiness makes it seem a little like a foam rubber suit.
Received some good feedback from fellow polycounter's that my folio needed an outdoor scene so I went to work . Loosely based on a concept from Robin Olausson and other elements I made.
The nano effect is inspired from Jeremy Baldwin from Vertex, and I thank them very much for such a cool effect!
here's a monster i'm working on, hands and feet need lots of work. he has no jaw and scoops up creatures with his hands and uses them like a lower jaw. i'll be starting a thread for him and his friends soon. for now, there are some other pics and info here. http://ericspitler.blogspot.com/2012/11/willy-wonka-monsters.html
Fieldscarecrow: We were shooting for March, but it looks like it's going to take much longer than we expected. I'll keep posting art and updates, and when we near completion you'll know about it
There is so so much awesome work in here. Really it's a hughe inspiration for me to be a part of this forum. And since i now seriously started to learn and train. Here's my first addition to the waywo topic.
Still need texturing and some small props (leash for example) but this is what i got so far. Will also show a finished version down the road.
3rd model ever btw.
None commercial just for funs. Billabong brand showcase (guess i'd call it something like that haha)
Haha, everytime I think I made something worthy of this thread I get crushed by incredibly talented guy like afisher xD
Anyway, here's what I'm currently working on
It's the main character of the game I'm making with 4 other students. I'll create a thread on Polycount and explain the game in depth once we've got enough stuff to show
I am looking for lighting crits or suggestions on my little presentation shot, please. I don't light much, and can't tell if what I think looks good actually does!
Finally have something that I feel like I can show
Tried my hands at "realistic" gun design. Took me about 2 workdays (~16 hours) from pencil sketch to this.
Before anyone asks, the gun has a ejection port on each side. The shooter can use the button behind the port to set which side the shells get ejected to. I'm working on the right side and some variations of the gun atm.
After having a quick browse on here I fancied a little bit of a play around in zbrush. Great to see people improving and producing some fantastic art. Pat on the back for everyone.
Well here I am again fitting in some personal work time! :poly121:
Here is another update on this one, I have tightened up the mesh so I can now make the details and also detail the meshes with the usual bolt holes etc etc
I think I am going to be doing my concept art in this style.Just thought of a kinda journalist character exploring a deserted city.Where have all the people gone and why?

Been plugging away on this for already far too many hours, but I am moderately happy with what I've managed to achieve.
I have a thread going here if anyone has any in-depth suggestions: http://www.polycount.com/forum/showthread.php?p=1726883#post1726883

What started as another speed sculpt turned into a 4 day project. 100% ZBrush, plus comp in PS. Based on this sketch I did in 2010:
