If I could make a prediction, borderlands is probably going to heavily influence art on here for a while. Hey, it's a great looking game so why not? XD
In the mean time, my not-borderlands-inspired piece that I finished for finals. It was my first map in Cryengine, so I can't complain with how it came out!

I've been trying to learn the cryengine lately, here's what I got so far :
looks great! but you defo need more color in there are you using any specific features yet? Hair and Skinshader? Vertex Colors to Animate the cloth and hair? Would love to see this in motion with an environment!

It's just the normal map for now, except for the fur and hair, but even this is wip. I'm using the hair shader for the fur & hair. Do you mean to animate it with the wind bending function inside the hair shader ? I could try to make a video when it'll be done.
here are a few simple NPCs i'm currently sketching for Airborn, to fill the scenery with life. They are basicly basechars which we can vary a bit with different colors, beards, hats and stuff.
proportions are roughly based on some settlers characters we worked on a while ago, changed them during the process quite a while tho.
1 hour & 40 minutes into a 4 hour speed sculpting comp over at game-artist.net. There was a power-cut and I lost about 25 minutes of work, nothing major i guess.
awesome render ,remind me some gimenez illustation
cross post , hp done for my steampunk submarine
Wow I love this, you really nailed the aquatic form with this thing. Were you using mainly sealife as a reference for it or do you have a specific concept you were working off of?
I've been super busy for the past few days, so I haven't made as much progress as I wanted to by now. Still, I've gotten a chance to noodle with the shirt and at least get a start on the pants. I think the shirt is probably a bit too busy and it doesn't have enough large shapes, so I'm going to be messing around with it more so I can get some chunkier stuff in there.
In addition to the problems with his clothing, I need to put some work into getting his hands and forearms sculpted up and looking non-terrible. Then, of course, there's also shoes and accessories and other bullshit.
Now, on to the important stuff.
I've decided to do something a little different with this entry. Instead of just posting pictures and asking for feedback, I'm going to be posting all my WIP models (and textures, in the future) for people to download, look at, and even use for themselves as a learning tool. I'll still be retaining ownership of the concept, models, textures, and any other files associated with this, but I want people to be able to take a look at my process firsthand and give feedback -- or not give feedback, whatever -- accordingly.
Please note that for this first package, some of the files may be a bit confusingly named. I'll address this in future packages.
Damn you guys are epic
Thank you for the chair comments as well
Also besides 3d modeling I do some painting here and there, done today, will finish it tomorrow, tried doing some cartoony girl

And some AO and Wire
The gameplay is heavily inspired by Geometry Wars and waves (I've always loved top down arcade shooters).
The game looks like an arena shooter now because i haven't gotten to the puzzle elements, but the final game won't be.

Thread
2k map diffuse only (unlit) :
well, I gotta update a thread of mine in here, but here is a peek at something new I have been working on ;P
Been working on my high poly forms before I get into all the little intricate stuff:
Here is a texture I've been working on off-and-on for about 2 days.
It's part of a much larger scene that I am working on for the SHOWDOWN context over at artbypapercut.com
There is a story to the texture, hens the religious symbol. If you'd like to check out the thread over there it is http://www.artbypapercut.com/forum/index.php?topic=72.0
