minorthreat that would be sooooooo awesome I could really do with having a look at those textures. In all the design stuff I have looked at they say its a tiki design but it looks so much more like mayan or inca =P
I will admit this happily as soon as I got these I started squealing like a little school girl dancing around my studio room =3 thank you so much this is brilliant =D. Started working with them already here is a WIP texture of one of the faces of a column.
Badass and HD as it should be. Can't wait to see the whole stage like this. But having played through it again (the original that is), I can tell you that you still have a damn long way to go. The first stage is actually one of the more detailed and diverse locations in the game.
Thanks dude appreciate it =D I'm still not at a level were I am happy with the final result but I feel like I'm getting there. I have been working on my hand painted stuff for a while now.
also looking for a coder to help me with the project, if you know any crash fans who are coders that know UDK, hook me up =P
Looking good Arran, crit i have for you is that really noticeable texture seam right by the tooth looks either like a unwelded seem in the mesh or a mess up with the AO bake & the lip pant doesnt seem to match the rest, seems like one flat colour maybe add more depth to it like you did with the eyes and border
That stitching is way to strong and big to come off as jeans, currently looking more like old cloth, tone it down a bit. The pockets at the bottom should blend more to make them look part of the pants and not as if they are just sitting on them. Rolling up the bottoms of the jeans like in crash cortex might make for a more interesting design.
Edit - also get some creases in the most obvious places like the crouch/belt area, it will break it up better
I agree exaggerating details is like a rule of thumb when doing stylized but just imo it lacking the feel jeans have, looking at the wiki page for crash and all his different design's the jeans appear to be one of the only things not that exaggerated from his design, like keeping the zipper area ect
I think I will keep the stitching size but I agree with you on the crotch to add a zipper, adding the cloth creases and creating the turn ups at the bottom.
Fur texture test. Still trying to find a good way to do the alpha's. Any info on creating fur would be useful. I will use this as a base texture until I find a better technique
This looks amazing omg. Crash Bandicoot was always one of my favorite games in the 90's. So cool to see it brought to life in a modern graphics engine, and with great quality!
nothing new. Just overlayed my new stuff onto the old model. few tweaks needed here and there and need to add a zipper still. Will probably fix in post =P
I havent checked this in a while but I must say I like where it is going. Also I really like the texture test you have done. Keep up the great work and I like your comparison from your old to new work.
