I'm in.. But I only know 1 other person with it so can't do much testing. Apparently you can send invites by just sending a message to someone.. So if someone wants some invites I can try to send some your way.
I'm on the waiting list. I can't see moving everything to there, after being so established at FB. They'd have to offer something incredibly new/innovative to get myself, and my friends, to switch. But, if anyone could do it, I believe Google could.
Ah, a man like who enjoy long and painful diseases, I can appreciate that. On the contrary I'm of the fast food generation, I'm very interested in Ebola.

you cant beat weeping sores and a slow descent into madness.
Guess i am not part of this.... just says they are running a small team and a button to keep me posted. Is this worthwhile? cuz that other one they tried to come up with didn't really catch the attention of anybody.
If it has NO games/invites/updates/gifts/hugs/kisses/pokes/likes/status reports/dodgy virus link/adverts/photo tags...
I might consider it.
I agree, but i think for the larger-public that is what makes Facebook sticky. Those things (minus virus links & adverts) distract users that they're still on a website and that they actually "doing" something.
I think google+ sounds nice, but part of me also thinks it is a "little too grown up" to be a wide success just yet. The mobile carrier SMS circumventing is awesome
If there could be a world free of Facebook games, i'd be all for it. Unfortunately, if google+ does catch on and Facebook does loose people, it will become a gaming platform, and we'll start seeing Facebook pressers at E3. Also, if/when this is fully launched - if they don't have a good iPhone app for it, i wont use it.
Even though I know practically nothing about this. I feel like it has a chance of doing well.
My theory is that, in a way, whether this works or doesn't is up to us (the "geek" crowd). Think about it, who are the first ones to get into these social networks? The tech people who follow the tech blogs. It isn't the millions of high school girls who make a break it in the beginning. I know a ton of my none tech friends still have no idea what wave is. And I'm not saying that is a social network but it is something that could have been used by literally everyone... but got rejected for one reason or another. Well maybe not rejected... put on hold.
The reason that I think this might work is because we (the tech crowd) are always looking for new things. Facebook is old. Maybe not for my mom. I know that they update stuff a lot. But really it has the same stuff in it. Google+ is a fresh, new system. From the looks of it... they have a ton of good ideas too. It will be interesting to see how fast they can make this public and how fast facebook just copies them. I feel like wave should have just made that thing public and had a shit ton of guys watching it to make updates for the first couple weeks. It was mentioned by a couple people that they have the beta but they know nobody on it. How is someone supposed to give this a full test if none of their friends have it.
I know there are holes in my theory... but I feel like it is a good point of making.
I've been using it for the last few days, so far I am liking it.
The only thing it's missing so far compared to Facebook is events and of course people.
Very much liking that they've updated the aesthetics of their search pages, calendars, etc, too. I love that they've got search keywords rendering like tags now, that you can cross out of, to omit from your search. Lovely. Voice searching works rather well, too, although I'm not sure I'd use it much.
If you haven't found them yet, there's new Gmail themes (Mail Settings/Themes) called Preview and Preview (dense), which are more in-keeping with the new design direction they're going in.
I really like how people are managed in circles. One reason why I got rid of my Facebook was because I essentially couldn't say anything. I'm not going to want to "be" the same person in front of my friends, course friends and family.
Although one problem with this right now if that none of my friends, course friends or family are on it.
Thanks for the invite Wesley
Currently I'm getting the "We've temporarily exceeded our capacity. Please try again soon.", so I guess I'll have to keep trying the invite until they let me it
my only complaint so far, I wish i could include a personal message when adding to circles.
I love the speed of it, its so f'ing fast. the mobile web version isn't bad either, but would rather an app. I'd also like to be able to +1 within reader....

No, that is justt he +1 button. google+ is their new social network. It is a lot like Facebook+twitter+skype all in one googley package.
is facebook any better about it?
Aids is much better than cancer imho.
I might consider it.
but seriously is this the +1 button thingy?

The Android App is really well done as well.
Except the invites are unlimited if you email people from within Google+.
Sssh, cheating. :P
