Guess there is something that is breaking the world, might be a machine that spewing out items on the ground, or spawner going mad (looks at FGD).
Must be a way to check which chunks is working too much....Would be cool if you could get the server to make a map of chunks as colors, so each chunk is shown as a pixel, the more red the more going on in it. Making it easier to see which chunks is the problem

Hey I added a void pipe to my wither farm at the end of my recycling plant. I'm not tossing anything on the ground anymore, though i guess i could turn them off more often...
something to add, im getting a connection refused error when I try to connect now.
Last time i was on was early morning can't reach the server now. Must be down. And definitely a void pipe is a must when your cup runneth over. I agree with the world anchor sentiment.
I only just noticed the other day that, lo and behold, there were people on the server! :O
Nifty as it would be to try something new...I am also anxious to hear if the old server got backed up at all. My beautiful, beautiful fortress and all that :P
Should be running now, I quickly checked before going to work. Sent an twatter to r13 about it. It sucked that I couldn't play, however it gave me time to try out some things in creative, such as figuring out why BC combustion engines would explode with gates.
It seems that if you have more then one engine connected to a wooden pipe with a gate, the gate will only monitor one of the engines, and shut it down correctly, however the others still keeps trotting on. BOOOM! This wasn't an issue in the standalone version of BC I used, only in FTB. So until that is fixed, only use one engine per pipe/gate to detect engine heat.
Maybe setup the server so it reboots every second day, and make backups of the map, so at least we don't lose everything if something happens, like last time.
Such a shame FTB is so buggy and prone to crashes, server has spent most of the last 2 weeks down. At this point im not sure what we should do about it.
Well Im playing on another server and it has a bunch of things which is disabled in current version, because they are lagging and can crash the server. The Xycraft tanks is apperently laggy and wireless can crash as well. They are working on the release for 1.5x and its apparently in beta. So hopefully it will work better.
I've been getting back into Minecraft recently and wanted to check out the server. Unfortunately, I'm being told that the server is out of date. Any plans on updating this to the latest version?

The server may be telling you it's out of date because it no longer runs vanilla minecraft. We made a switch to a collection of modpacks called feed the beast (which you can find at http://feed-the-beast.com/). If you would like to join us the modpack we use its ftb ultimate 1.1.2 on the launcher.

I must have missed this post, its been a while for me. However, I don't see a V1.1.2 on the list.
Sorry mis, ftb isn't the most stable thing so the server spends a lot of time down now. Theres also talk about shutting it off because not many people seem to play anymore.
yah the server needs attention every 8 hours... thats pretty damn needy. so i've been getting tired of having to reboot it and have called it quits as there's really only 2 active people left.
Really I'd be fine with going back to vanilla too, ftb is fun and all but it really is just too damn needy.
Edit: Also if the server is staying down, could you put the old vanilla polycount world up for download somewhere? I'd really like to have a copy of the things we had all built there.
I am always looking to see if the server is up! I didnt know we was on FTB for a while, once I did I installed it and played around the server crashing. I would love if you kept the server going, I kinda prefer vanilla. FTB was fun but way too much to learn for someone like me! Ha! Ofc, I will chip in some money to the pot.
Hey guys, is there still any interest in a Polycount server? I'd be willing to run a server from my home computer if there is. I'm in Texas, and my internet speed is not state of the art (though it's not slow either), so we'd have to try it out before it gets serious to see how ping is. I've run several servers before, both vanilla and FTB. I can run it 24/7, and I'll be happy to op any PC admin that might play. Are any of you guys interested?
I was blowing a ton of time this month on a PVP mod called Factions. But people have been cheating with Xray texture packs, so it's lost all its fun. Besides, I have a ton of work to do, haha.
I might pop in for a bit if you set one up though. I love MC.
Xray ruined the first server I ever ran. There is a bukkit plugin to block the xray mod itself, but it has a tendency to slow the server down a bit, and occasionally a valuable block may appear to non-cheaters that turns out to be just stone when you mine it. I have since relied on people's honesty, but opening up a server to such a large community as PC might call for the xray blocker again. I guess we'll see! I don't know if there's enough interest in a PC server yet to even worry about those things :poly124:
Well, we used to have FTB but it crashed a ton. R13 was the admin, and he kept it honest by not letting anyone have Creative mode, everyone was Survival. Still though, it crashed almost daily. I think it was something to do with teleporting, though it may also have been certain machines people were making.

The server crashed again last night, hasn't been rebooted yet.

Very much so.

The only texture I dont like, is the glass, because you can pretty much not see it. The hardern glass texture is better imo.

It should be the first pack on the list. FTB Ultimate(v1.1.2)Minecraft Version 1.4.7 by the FTB team
Ah, silly me I can see it now. But I'm still unable to connect, I am conecting vias mc.polycount.com and minecraft.polycount.com
