Yeah, I already twatted r13 about it (I think, never used it before). I'm guessing the build we got isn't that stable, must have a leak or something in it. I noticed when I'm playing in singleplayer, that I keep having crashes, but it might just be because of my mods.
may I suggest a Terrafirmacraft server/shard.
Its tough, but makes hunting ore a lot of fun.
o and the chisel thing (lets you turn a single block into 64 minis you can carve on), much art potential, though the lighting sucks so think in terms of silhouettes.
I would really like if we get an reset, that we can get a copy of the current map so we can keep a copy of our creations.
Also, if we are adding mods, I really recommend getting Redpower! More fun with interactive stuff we can make, and as well redwires are LOVE! Can make so much more compact and fun stuff with it.
Hey guys I broke the outbound carts in Derpington to spawn. Then i fixed them lol. I just had to unblock the rail carts which had for some reason gotten stuck on the exit to where they dispense. I have a problem where some things get delayed because i live in Australia. Sometimes I try to get out of the cart and end up being put out as it's going back into the system or not at all! maybe you train nutz could chuck in some kind of safety switch for laggers that stalls the timer till i can manage to get out?
What would you think of moving on from a vanilla server to running a Feed the Beast server. A few people on the server started a FTB server of their own but it cost them $15/m to have it hosted. If our server is resetting and with all the mods people are asking for maybe you can run a FTB server instead. It runs with all the mods people are asking for and more it would make things interesting.
Haha. You can pay me $15 a month and I'll run a server for you. It's super easy to run the server on a low spec machine and have no problems. The only hassles come from when updates come out, windows updates and running out of HD space. Setting up a dynamic host with no-ip is free and super easy.
I'm all for keeping it simple. Vanilla is best flavor.
I love a FTB server as well, the problem with it though, is that you would need more people with direct access to the server, to fix issues. It's easier to lag/break the world with those mods (Buildcraft and pipes comes to mind). But it would be really nice, making interactive stuff.
I am loving FTB i use mindcrack very true that there are some glitches but it adds so much depth and playability to the game. Only thing i'd add to mindcrack is mystcraft though i am unsure if it would make you have to reset the server again to update it with it having so many changes ahead but that could be researched. I'd say though that there is lots of tweaking and some config file fixing to get nei working properly but it is more than worth the hassle and anyone that want to stick to vanilla it is still entirely possible to do so. plus i'd bet they could get a good command block market going selling the ores they find to other players in the spawn village.
Wait a minute. When I try to connect to mc.polycount.com, it says it's version 1.4.7 and won't let me connect. Is there a new server address?
The server is the same info but beacuse its feed the beast now you would have to download the ftb launcher and the ultimate mod pack to log in, but this isnt a bad thing or anything at all.
It's perfectly safe. the launcher login logs into minecrafts servers and not to ftb. Also to note that when you run the ftb launcher you can simply place it into a folder in any location you choose and it makes a separate copy of minecraft that wont affect your vanilla install.
The process almost entirely automated no need to fiddle with jars unless you want to add, say optifine which you can do using the edit pack and adding it to jar mods after downloading a copy and placing it into the mod folder the install. All mods are downloaded upon start up as are the updates when moving to a different version number. It's super easy and if you have any problems i am sure that one of us will help you out. Be sure to use ultimate pack on the left, reccommended under the pack version number.
Both myself and FGD are on fairly regularly and we are more than happy to answer questions in game as well as show you the basics as you explore the gigantic potential of FTB. Also to note all vanilla mechanics work in game. The two best wiki's are linked below and youtube has a abundant amount of tutorials as well as let's play series.
Side note please avoid chopping down silverwood trees (blue sparkling tree) until you understand the mechanics behind them. Also they dont burn so no need to worry about that. They are apart of the Thaumcraft 3 which is a really awesome magic mod.
As part of chaotic alignment, I will burn down all the blue trees! MOHAHAHAHAahha....
*cough* Anyway, having fun so far, still searching for a good location for a base. Kinda wish we had the web map as well, so I can see where people has been, so I don't go too far away.
Btw, a note about the World Anchors, try minimise and optimize the use of them, as the more there is, the more the server has to work. So only cover the minimum area needed, and disable it when it's not needed.
is the server going to update the latest version soon? I just figured out how to make a completely automated chicken cooking machine thanks to hoppers and daylight sensors =P

I would love to see this! Server isn't vanilla Minecraft anymore. For setup instructions see Grimmjsb's most recent post. It's really easy to setup.
I think it's just a mismatch when you try to connect with a standard Minecraft client. Then it says the server is only 1.4.7. But when you connect thru Feed The Beast, it works fine.

i try to do a full render, but it craps out, so the middle gets done but not anything else.
if you see a new version of bukkit come out, before i do, ping me as well
EDIT: back up now
EDIT 2: no! it rolled back. my not so hard work...
I must say that I'm more into the redstone computing side of things (have made a few computers in the past and run a large community of redstoners )
i'm thinking it might be time for a map reset.

is the server not up to date? I've been checking on it, still seems ok. is a particular mod in that stack of 90 need updating?
