Haha, I found the end. Nice work whomever, probably r13? The water room is cool. Dragon flew through me and destroyed some of the start area, I fixed it, but it's not quite the same.
btw, i'd be wary of whitelisting people with only one post each.
lol yeah sorry I kno. I'm too chicken to post anything. I've been on the server for about a week. Met a couple of people so I was hoping somebody would've remembered me. Been lurking on the forums for a while now.
Hey just because we don't post on the forums doesn't mean we don't follow polycount... I find your accusations idiotic. This is a community for all those interested in 3D art, and much more. So everybody who is part of the community needs to post in the forums to be considered "worthy" enough in your almighty eyes to be anything. Please bless me with your presence and grant me access into the minecraft server almighty Eric.
and btw, I have a website. We all have websites. We are Simulation and Digital Entertainment students. We are studying the very game development program this website was built off of. If you want proof of my website just visit http://www.gmstar.webs.com/
I am an aspiring 3D artist who loves games and polycount. I would like to play minecraft with people of the same interests because it's cool and fun. So don't act like we are nobody because we didn't post on the forums.
first of all, i would look at who youre talking with, its ERCI CHADWICK, not some generic douche.
secondly, you are not a part of a community if you just lurk them... Oo
the community lives off of communication. if you dont communicate why would you talk on the server?
thirdly, eric didnt mean any harm i think, it was only the irony of the post that was quite funny. one guy with 0 posts vouching for another guy with 0 posts^^
fourth and last, dont get to self confident about your webpage, it doesnt look very professional at all...
We had griefing problems in the past, thus the whitelist. Same with the wiki. I'm wary of anonymous dudes with no history. If you had posted this info in your first post, that would have helped. I don't control the minecraft whitelist though, just offering advice.
I enjoy being a generic douche, thankyouverymuch.
Oh and the website looks good, I think it's a great start! Post it for critique, become a part of the community. I look forward to seeing you in minecraft.
Okay. Thanks Eric for the welcome. I wasn't trying to be an asshole I was just stating a point. I usually don't tend to talk on forums, period. That is just how I am. For example, I played WoW for 5 years and never ever posted one thing on any forums. I don't post on any forums anywhere. But I do read them, a lot. Maybe I should start posting, asking questions, getting to know the community, but that is for me to decide.
"xXm0RpH3usXx" I really don't appreciate you calling my webpage unprofessional. I did as much as I could using freewebs to handle it for me.. Not all of us have time to set up some fancy webpage when we have 3D modeling to do which is more important. It is a webpage just for the purpose of showing off my portfolio when applying for a job after graduation. You get to the page and the recruiter has easy access to all my work. And maybe this is why I don't want to talk on forums because people like you who just say negative comments about somebody's shit and not offer advice.
Eric, thank you for the website compliment. I know it needs work. I'm not a website designer. I will consider posting it for critique when I have all my 3D work, and video games, I created on there.
Don't get upset when someone tells you your work is shit. Just ignore feedback you don't agree with, and make your stuff more awesome!
It doesn't help to get upset because often that's just the way it is, when you're working in commercial art. Most people won't be polite. In fact, we work hard to weed out people who can't take critique, because these kind of people are usually quite difficult to work with.
It's hard to not let your ego get in the way. But it's an essential skill in a team working environment.
u dont need to put me into hyphens...
as you i was just stating a point. didnt mean to offend you, but it sounded like you wanted to get all big boss because you have it. i'm sry for my not entirely well chosen words, one must be carefull about this when posting... i'll try to keep it mind next time. (i am after all not a native native english speaker)
i may point you at this, just to justify the advice thingy: http://arthackday.net/project/31/
did not test it myself, but seems like an easy concept.
i did not want to come across badly, my apologies...

would it somehow be possible to get into creative mode? is there a mod or something allowing for picked players to become creative? i saw some stuff built out of pure iron ingots and dont imagine someone took all the time to get them...
Someone died in the nether fortress trying to get blaze rods - I saved your stuff in a chest nearby so you can go collect it again.
Was on tonight with Shep - he's just finished a rather awesome cylon ship east of spawn. It may be my PC, or maybe that Minecraft doesn't render pistons after a certain distance, so the effect only works close-up.
I added more to my atlantian tentacle island nearby, and made a corridor through the cliff so the rocket is walkable, I managed to destroy my indiana jones piston corridor by mistake though. :P
testing some new glsl shader ... it looking sick with real time hard shadow, the torch light may too dimmed but this can be fix by turning on the HDR shader on in final.fsh

hey, that looks really nice, but you should tell them about your framerates :P
on another note, would somebody in creative mode be so kind to restock those parcels under the christmas tree?
i would love to have some stacks of: white wool, sticky pistons, redstone dust, redstone torches and some lava buckets
I hope thats not too much asked for... :$
Also, for any new arrivers you could maybe drop some diamond armor, pickaxe and swords.
i dunno, some people put a lot of effort into this, why reset?
is there some new terrain generation coming up?
also, i started just recently to play more activly and found a virgin spot pretty quickly. underneath was a giant cave nobody discovered before. there is still enough room.
and its fun to explore those places other people did. shep's and joker's places are huge and fun to explore. afterall there are a lot of things you can learn about designs when u go there.
I don't mind either way with a map reset, but I wouldn't want to upset anybody else.
I tend to play whenever really. I think a lot of folks are on during the weekend. Day jobs and such getting in the way.
On an unrealted note, I don't usually post in other threads because I'm really timid... But I'm looking for a job in graphics. I've just updated my siggy with my portfolio. Its not much, but I'm looking and wanting to improve it.

looks awesome!
Thanks.

I love them odd cube structures on the hill near spawn, they remind me of them abandoned pods. http://www.flickr.com/photos/30710393@N07/3166765730/
also i saw the big rocket out at sea.
Did you find the secret indiana jones corridor of doom under them?
I was going to make a huge six again but went for something more subtle (ish ).
did you see the redstone lighting on the launch tower... if you press the button at the bottom it does a cool light cycle up the tower.
That was me lol - I thought you'd abandoned ship so I finished them up.
That shit is hawt!!

Any interest in a map reset?
If I need to add to the whitelist, can you or others please print it again?

I'm currently updating the server right now to the dev version of Craftbukkit.. [this is the mod system i use for the map]
it's grinding away on the files, converting them. I don't know what its doing but perhaps its setting up for the new world gen stuff..
Going to let it do its thing and see how it works... this is the dev version that is 1.2 compatible.
i will not do a map reset, everyone seems to be happy as is. Figured I'd at least ask
