finals:
AGAIN...LEGENDARY MEN...RETIRE!
15 years after Fatal Fury's final chapter [Garou: MOTW] the "Legendary Hungry Wolf" withdraws from the fighting circuit. Forced to bow out by a new generation of younger, stronger, more effeminate males; he hangs up the ol' hat and joins the "Second South LOCAL 330 Builders."
...but is an honest days work really enough to get this broken soul out of bed in the morning?
Recently divorced from Blue Mary after a rocky 5 year marriage, and fresh off a smoke'n rebound with [still snooty as ever] B. Jenet, Mr. Bogard may still have some left in the tank.
latest:
"are you OK?!?!"

heh heh, indeed. i was hoping someone would do that.
will post some concepts and reference soon; pretty amped about the comp.
that just happened.
finally upgraded to windows 7 on my partition, still got a few drivers to install. looking to run that 64-bit Max.
so what's up then? you gonna Dom?
or are you jumping ship too?
Reference.
ha; love that dub.
How come I've never seen this before?!?!
Great stuff!!! XD
starting off loose with some silhouette studies; a few things to note before I dive into a fully fleshed out concept:
[.] going for a fitted v-neck t-shirt with workmen overalls and a heavy duty carhartt style jacket. his iconic star will be the foundation for the Second South builders union back patch. [which I will design later down the road] durable construction gloves will replace his old fingerless ones.
[.] reverting back to the long hair [as opposed to the shorter cut from Garou] thinking about sculpting some matted hair strands for a "hat head" look around the forehead.
[.] dry, leathery skin and sun bleached hair, full beard. massive frame, like stallone in the most recent rambo movie. plus maybe some roid veins for good measure.
[.] the bill will be creased on his tattered "Fatal Fury" ball cap and shoved into his back pocket. easily accessible if there is cause for celebration.
thanks, probably a bit of gut too. if you take a look at the build i've got going in the sketches, i want him to look like a weathered vet, but still capable of delivering a brutal "crack shot" to someone's skull. I'd say i'm going to be shooting for a 45-50 years old terry.
As for me? I'll most likely stick with Dom War this year. I can't pass up making my own god. Too cool!
You have to finish:)

@Parnell: Don't worry I'll finish. I think you joining DWV has less to do with the brief, and more to do with getting them GA achievements.:poly142:
@MattQ86, dang87: you guys ever see this little gem posted below?

Inspiring sketches...
[.] here is the finished sketch i'm going to start modeling off of; i think the material work will be a lot of fun on this one. probably going with muted earth tones across the various assets. the overalls will be a rough denim, with dirt around the boots. workmen's jacket will most likely be light brown / tan-ish with a leather collar. the large construction glove on his right hand should be a nice silhouette breaking detail too. especially looking forward to some of the hard surfacing and texture work on terry's lunch box.
@dkreset: thanks man, terry is definitely one of the most iconic fighters. being an SNK nut, I thought it was only appropriate to go with him for the comp.
@SupRore: cool, thanks for checking in, hope you like the finished concept i've come up with.
@dang87: that shit is pretty epic, I love how they show some sprite editing near the end.
@TeriyakiStyle: with the proportions, I'm going to try and take certain aspects from his more slender KOF sprite, as well as the more bulky attributes of his MOTW rendition.
@mitcHell: thanks dude, can't wait to see I-No.
@jramauri: i appreciate it, thanks for the feedback.
@armians: thanks for the big compliment, glad you like the drawing. goodluck with ralf.
@Ravenslayer: thanks for your comments about the line work. your take on morrigan is very refreshing.
@NuclearWarrior: yeah, I get what you are saying. I think what I will do is model the fatal fury hat completely so that it can be warn as an accessory or also collapse in the pocket for different render setups and posing options. thanks for the ideas.
The whole first post update keeps throwing me off....of well! XD
@beta_channel: thanks beta.
@Buckster: I'll be doing some experiments with the clothing wrinkles to see how much stylization i can get away with. I definitely want to make sure that roughness comes across.
@jramauri: I'll do what I can translate the grittiness into the model.
@Sebeuroc: ha, glad you liked the story. there are so many memorable characters for the series, I wanted to find some way to work in his old flame.
@dustinbrown: thanks dude.
@seven: thanks for feedback, looking forward to your baraka.
@Maph: cool maph, i'm going to spend a little time getting the body proportions in full and getting the muscle detail just right. even though most of the body is covered in the concept. I think it will be cool to have his jacket removable, so that you would just see the t-shirt and suspenders underneath.
@d.hynes: yes, maybe next year there will be some 2d comp as well. just wanted to make sure i got the mood of the character across.
@garyriley31: thanks, i hope in the end that the re-design feels authentic to the character.
@dang87: you mean the latest update in the first post? yeah, just trying to keep it updated.
@EtotheRic: maxx is sweet. I thought the lunch box would be a good opportunity to add a little depth, and maybe some laughs to a hardened character.
I really like this kind of sketch.
Can't wait to see more of this one.
@dkreset: looking forward to it.
@GoSsS: thanks man.
@STRIKER: :thumbup:
can’t wait to see more!
