man, there is so much drama in the air with this... I tend to stay neutral for the most part but all of this is getting on my nerves.
one of the mods over on 3d total had this to say:

First up, it's a real shame to hear about PC pulling out of DomWar. At the same time it isn't really a suprise. As with many others the delays this year have been a bitter pill to swallow, and tbh I also worry that there will be results delays as well. Who knows!
So time to turn the page!
I really like the idea of the environment element that has been mentioned, it's an exciting notion and I look forward to hearing more.
One thing I would like to say or raise though a few people have been talking about teams, for example,
i hope you can at least work in groups of 2. It would be sick to attempt huge and amazingly detailed vista's.
Tbh the idea of teams is a bit of a turn off for me, certainly if the teams are included with the single person entries. The reason is simple. I find it hard enough to fit these competitions in around work and life as it is, let alone with the extra organisation needed to be in a team. Therefore I'm prob gonna be a solo entry. And the idea of entering a competition where what I can do in a month or two is gonna have to go up against what 2 or 3 or 4 people can do in a month or two (ie the aforementioned 'amazingly detailed vistas') makes the outlook a little bleak and off putting.
So just my 2 cents but a competition that was only solo, or seperated the solo and teams out, would be preferable.
Anyway, now I find myself sitting at my computer waiting for 2 competition briefs to come out lol! Double the awesome or double the crazy? Double the awesome I think!
I enjoy the rivalry, Im sad to see it go. I mean they will be there but not like DW. And theres friendly banter and then theres just plain trolls. I hope im not the troll.

If I had the time to join both I would! I only really have the time to join in one of the competitions since I want to use it as a school project. I was really banking on DomWar being up by now because I have something due next week (a design to model for DomWar) for one of my classes, but now I might have to switch because it still isn't up. I didn't expect DomWar to be delayed like it is seeing as its my first time and I've only been doing 3D for a year (so I'm a total noob still).
So if this one starts first I guess I might switch to this one! I just wanted to enter a nice big competition for the feedback and experience rather than to win...I think DomWar would have been fun because I really like the gritty sci-fi themes generally ! Oh well, I'll wait to see what this one is like and maybe join in on this instead. I wish I had time for both though!
Sounds like good stuff! I'm looking forward to how this develops! I especially like the inclusion of environment stuff, since that's a huge part of CG community that doesn't seem to get as much notice as character work.

(from wikipedia) "Polyamory (from Greek πολύ [poly, meaning many or several] and Latin amor [love]) is the practice, desire, or acceptance of having more than one intimate relationship at a time with the knowledge and consent of everyone involved."
except its like an armory, which it totally badass.
so its deep enough that you could pull something interesting out of the meaning, or just focus on the fact that its a badass armory. a collection of tools for the war to come. painting us in the light of awesome 2d and 3d smiths of digital awesome.
