Finished up the subD cage for this in Max. I'm going to be doing some ZBrush stuff to it as well, so this isn't 100% "final". Once done in ZBrush I'll be modeling out the low poly then baking and texturing this 'lil guy.
Here is a sci-fi character I did a while ago, but now I'm polishing it a bit and probably gonna try to render it. I'm still not keen with the proportions yet.
Hi guys, I have just recently designed a card game for clubbing, party and family fun time. It will probably be available by end of July 2011, currently in the middle of pre-production.
The design is based on the philosophy of "Seek to understand, then to be understood". By picking up your friends, siblings, colleague and probably the charmed ones' thoughts, you could win the game and hopefully indirectly expand/improve the circle of your social life.
Hope you like it!
S/W Blender: Using node geometry front/back feature on the cards (plane). Box is folded using bone mechanism.
Box 22 tris; Emotion Card 2 tris; Match Card 2 tris
too lot of beautiful works for make a list all name/works ^^
good work in this forum
i have continued my sculpt ( in beginning just a speed ) and i want to push this character, one of the future pixar brave ^^
Ditto on the request with Maph mate, that looks pretty killer for CE3. Definitely has a more realistic vibe to it than marmoset, of course depending on how big your maps and textures are I suppose
could use some masked polypaint. theres the option in zb, dont remember the name right now... but you can, for istance, use an alpha and get the cracks, mask only the deep parts of the cracks, and paint the raised parts. thats how they polypaint, say, the scales of a dragon.
That was the first polypaint I've ever been able to do. The other (about 5 times so take that for what it's worth) times I've done it, ZB always crashes, or the mesh dies, or something happens, and it gets screwed up. I don't have any plans of actually using it, I'm gonna do the textures in photoshop later. But I WILL remember masking for polypaint in the future, thanks.
Yeah, I see what you mean about his clavical weirdness, will tweak that. Here's the best reference of this guy I was able to find after a LOT of searching.
That's looking good, g2000, thanks!! In all honesty, it was hard getting his proportions to look decent. In the comic, they change from panel to panel, making it harder than I thought it'd be.
Still like what you've got there, so I'll go make some changes. Thanks a ton, man.
If he's a comic hero then proportions don't really matter imo, he's not meant to be real so why should he look like a super freaky bodybuilder? I suppose that's your prerogative though.
sauron i would really look into unwrapping stuff horizontal or in 90 degree turns.
everythign is projected under and angle now and painting like that isnt much fun.
the pixels gained from having it twisted vs working propperly and straight projection is not worth it in most cases.
looking good though
nice joshua
I like the zbrush shot,
you should try adding lighting to it in zbrush (only works in best rendermode)
maybe a second shot with a high reflection material set to "lighten" mode it in photoshop?
some handpainted stuff :poly124:
I discovered with this thread the 3d paint with layers feature of 3dcoat so I wanted to try it but unfortunatly it won't run on my poor poor intel gma 945 so I gave a try with the basic blender 3d paint tool :poly141:
Worked pretty good for 12hours of work including modeling/uv/texturing but I'm still far from allods online artist skills :poly117:
Done for a freelance job for an upcoming windows phone game.
since my computer has been in the shitter, i haven't had much time to work on anything. surprisingly enough, when i least expect it, it will start up normally for a short time. 35 minutes in zbrush and then it was screwed yet again, so i made a crappy paintover in photoshop to illustrate where i plan to take it

Depends how hard it is to set something up like that in ce3 compared to marmoset? Mind giving a rundown on how you did this in ce3?

it has 1024x1024 textures, and 6266 triangles, a bit too much, hehe

Rens, I really don't know much about ZBrush in general, let alone it's material and rendering system.
