darksiders 2 inspired environment, future portfolio piece working on the concept, C&C always welcome.
the idea is to work on several pieces at the same time, I will probably move on and start on another piece after I start modeling some of the modular pieces.
hey guys, I can I get some feed back on the concepts? are they good, cheesey or bad. I will even accept that they are bad just as long as I get some outside opinions on it sense these will eventual become portfolio pieces.
do you mean the karin piece? yea, I decided I wont revisit it because would be too much work to correct it and it not like its a portfolio piece though. The main reason of doing it was to learn the basics of game art, diff, normals, spec etc. ill redeem myself with another, lol.
nah man, no such thing as harshness in critiquing art.
I really dig the last concept of the girl/cleric/knight
i would suggest a little less anime in the face though. i kinda have a WoW feeling for the armor (i hate WoW, its more like in... nice clean big shapes)
and the face doesnt really fit with that. (if u ever model it)
maybe you could change the hammer part into some sort of cross, reflecting the belt cross.
just my two cents
sword feels a bit rigid and blocky compared to the guy holding it. it uses simple geometric forms while the dude's design relies on organic forms, curves etc.
So blade and hilt-guard could use a more fancy shape.
the amount of improvement you made in 3d is ridonkulous. way to keep at it man!
This. Jesus man. Keep it up! The more you do, the better you get, and you have definitely proved that statement VERY true. I just went through this whole thread (again) and its amazing to see where you started compared to now. Keep moving man... this is inspirational for ANY artist to say the least.
Man such a shame you don't want to specialize in characters, this one's looking really good! And the stone statues with the death figure and sword are looking awesome, you should try and polypaint these or something.

lol, thanks man. ill get to it. Im trying to keep all of my projects at a similar state of completion. As for the characters, its just a decision of mine. Thanks again!

I redone some of the pieces, mostly lower peices and the face, see if you can tell the difference. should be working on my environments.
