OK got one more thing you can try. Open up the Source SDK and hit the option that says'reset game configuration files'. After you've done that and it's finished doing it's thing launch tf2 and load a map, then close it and try again.
Basically Valve released an SDK update that changed the naming syntax for their various versions of the Source engine. Because of this many SDK toold won't work properly until you reset the the configurations and relauch the gamne your working on to write new configurations.
Aww. Well, I've given up on compiling for now, the important thing is to get the models and textures done. I've submitted the first item, Bowman's Bowie already, now to finish the others. Nevermind, the contribute says I'm misssing files or exiding the 2mb limit. The zips are 828KB and 103KB. Da fugg...?

Baking AO in Blender: In the UV editor, select all your faces (press A), and go to Image -> New. Make the height and width twice what you actually want, since the bake isn't aliased and thus needs to be scaled down in your image editing software.
In the Buttons Window, go to Scene (F10) -> Render buttons and find the Bake panel (it's next to Anim). Select Ambient Occlusion. Make sure Selected to Active is off and Normalized is on. Margin can be used to bake outside of the UV islands - as is necessary for MIP maps - be sure to turn this up a bit, to at least 8 or so, but you can't actually go too high.
Press the Bake button and voila! It should make an AO map. Just use Image -> Save As now and use it in Photoshop or GIMP or MS Paint or whatever. The amount of AO samples can be changed in Shading (F5) -> World Buttons -> Amb Occ. More samples makes it less grainy.

I had a grey verson, but it looked too boring. There was origionally also a bluish band when it was for both teams, but I never got the bands to be straight or look right.

as Im sitting here and writing, there is a house burning down, one street over. The things in flames, fire broke out in the garage and its coated the building, Im shaking. Listen Polycounters. I'm freaked. Theres about 6 trucks and 3 fire trucks. Everyone in the neighborhoods out there. I can hear the sirens...My hands are shaking. Open up your .smd and scroll down to where it references images, and check that you're using the correct file name. also check you're in the right location.
I think you should make a team colored, "#1 Sniper" mug.

There seams to be one lacking. I think, if people help me, I've gotta pass the info alon, it would be nice to see more good models. So, even though I didnt win, I've learned more than i'd ever learn by myself, and I have some neat skins for my weapons that a few friends are begging me for, paticulary my Coffeerate. I havent forgotten about the people who've helped me, like Scudz or Zwebbie, so expect something nice for yall ^_^.
I think I can make polycount update pages for anyone who wants one. Be sure to give me three pics of your items, your class, theme, and some background info you want included. Just credit me and I'm happy.

I think this contest has been rough on me. I can say for a fact that Ive done the most research, thinking, work, spent the most time and worried about this project than any other thing Ive ever done. Evah. Ive been through a lot over the course of this contest. A house burned down a street over, 2 power outages, my ma went to the hospital and I lost my VIP status on my favorite server. I guess this is why valv3 gets valv3 time. Makes sense ya know.
