I find this Ironic, latly I have been changing my ingame name to cooler sounding ones, the last one was called
"The good doctor"... and I would ask people how much blood they had, and then say that they "had too much..."
Yes and yes. Sparkwire is still working on this (or was last I saw) so I'm not entirely sure what he's going to come up with but in the stream he had most of the leeches suckered to the glass and wiggling about as the water moved.
The entire glass jar can be removed during the reload animation. It's all going to look pretty neat when its done. A damn sight better than what I would have come up with.
Anyway, did the UVs this afternoon, so I'll have textures going on tomorrow. Now its bed time.
I'm thinking this gun could do with some wood and rust touches, at least something other than the leeches themselves to tie them in with it being an archaic medical practice. Maybe brass elements? If I felt for sure like it would work in TF2's colors I'd almost suggest trying out some copper.
I feel like this would work great as kind of a modern weapon with old-timey touches, I dunno how you feel about that though.
EDIT: on the copper thing, I just remembered someone did a really nice looking copper coil that fit with the colors really well.
Jack, could you do a version of your leech projectile that is jiggleboned?
I know it's very unlikely, but it would be awesome times a thousand if the leeches were made to be world objects similiar to the cigarette in Spy's disguise kit taunt. Which would mean they would interact more with the world, which would look more awesome if they were slightly jiggleboned...
Yeah.. I mean, just have that as an alternative to the original projectile, as a suggestion to what Valve could do with it
Sparkwire, aimations are looking great. I'm not so keen on the empty jar just kind of falling out of the rack. It may be better if the medic picked it up, and then replaced it. Otherwise, it seems to be working very well.
I'll send you a base texture as soon as I have one put together.
Simski. That should be simple enough to do from my perspective. I'll already have the textured and rigged leech.

its not the texture i need currently, its an unwrapped model. i need to save the .uvw maps and load it onto the model i have animated.
Don't you hate it when Maya decides to randomly corrupt a bunch of UVs for no discernable reason. Fixed it all now.

EDIT:
Did some messing about in photoshop and eventually came up with what I think will be a workable colour scheme. Still not entirely sure about it, but we'll see what it looks like in 3d.
If I may... I think the name "Egelknarre" would be fitting. Literally means "Leech shooter", though the word "knarre" appears to be a slang term which also translates as "gat" and "heater".
The leeches are looking great, Sparkwire. You're doing a top job. I think you probably could pull the gun in a bit closer to the camera so it matches the existing guns and the position of the third person model though.
I wouldn't add too many more leeches. There are a fair few polys in each one

doing more leechgun stuff.
Your gun looks awesome.
sure thing, how many would be good? right now theres about 7-8 leeches inside the jar.
But as pw said, could add more leechy goodness. Maybe, like... 12-15?
Does it need more leeches?
edit- I was late! Maybe a couple more. Or not. It's pretty already.
edit2 - Yeah slow down the canister flying off if possible

I think the colours are working quite well together. Time for detailing.
Example:
they all wiggle via jigglebones.
thats the fov, i use 90. sorry for any confusion.
The ones in the wall :O
Perhaps that's just because of the perspective, however they appear to be a lot smaller inside the canister.
I was gonna comment that the gun seems too far away but since your FOV is different, it could be the reason.
I think it's the perspective, they're about the size a syringe would be although a bit shorter, basing on the size of the bullet hole.
edit: if you can afford the triangles, that is.
