“UH is one of the few Universities teaching the correct fundamental skills required by the games industry, you have the right mix of traditional theory and cutting edge digital art creation, and understand that the tech is a tool rather than the end in itself. I’m impressed.”

A big congratulations to BA Games Art Alumni Karen Stanley, winner of the Rising Star
award at this year's Women In Games Awards!
Name: Keagan Harris
I'm currently studying at plymouth college of art on a games design degree and am in my second year. In short -the course is appalling and a waste of time. So i have recently been looking into other courses in the uk that i could transfer to for my last year (or to retake the 2nd year aswell).
This course sounds exaclty what i've been looking for and what i was hoping my currenty course would be like.
I have a few questions and i'd be very grateful if you could answer them
- Would students from other degrees be able to transfer to the course into the 2nd or 3rd years?
- What would the talent / portfolio need to be at, to be accepted for a transfer?
- Would you say that the course is suitable for a 2D looking to get into the games / film industry or is there more of a focus on 3D?
- Also in the original post there are links to 2D / 3D parts of the courses, implying that the course splits up into the different disciplines at some stage, however those links no longer work. Would it be possible to explain a bit more about the course structure (sorry if this has already been explained)
Thank you very much
