Just looked through all the pages in your sketchbook, I really love your environments, they're gorgeous! Very inspiring stuff I have to admit, though, that the guy with the octopus on his head is my favourite pic of your work
long time no update for Airborn. No, it is not dead yet, who would've thought? I decided to do kind of a keyimage for the Ice/Foggy Setting. It took about two months from scratch to finish, but with pauses and many sketches from Jaster and me.
Here is another one for Airborn I did some 2 or 3 months ago, before starting the latest piece. It was all about the design of the island and I got good, helpful critics by friends of mine.
Great stuff as usual. On the latest, might wanna lighten up the middle ground juuust a little bit. The flying dude and the watch post he's throwing whatever on kinds blends in with the rest.
Here is another update. For the last 3 to 4 weeks I worked for Parasol Island on an online-animated ad for Karstadt.
Parasol Island wanted me to create concept art for their 39sec ad. I was mainly doing backgrounds and after that I did some Matte paintings and some production stuff needed.
The concepts for the characters and animals were made by Steve Scott.
I really liked working for Parasol Island. It was a good, easy collaboration without any troubles.

And here are the concepts at first and the matte painting for all backgrounds after.
Thanks everyone for the support in 2012 and all the opportunities I got. Here is a fresh concept art for Airborn. The interior for a tavern in the mediteranian part of the world.
Man, these remind me of some Miyazaki magical kingdom. I'd like to think that A, B, and E have some really strong weight to them. You could push the daintiness of F even further and really stretch the rotundness of it into different areas. Great stuff so far
Baltor Mussbark - The wanderer
One of the great heroes of the realm. Every kid wants to be like him, traveling through the country, fighting in tournaments and earn wealth and honor. He's not a particulary good guy, he takes the side he thinks is the most helping one for his endeavors.

While working on this artwork and designing the character I always had the merchant from Dota2, made by Jim Murray on my reference board. I studied it quite a lot on how he designed this character. Influenced my own design in some ways as you can see.
Absolutely love those character designs. So twisted!
I also particularly like the painting of the substrata knight in the environment. While I'm not very fond of the design to be honest (shape language I do like but in terms of practicality I'm not convinced anyway) the atmosphere feels real, enhanced by the way the character is cropped it feels like actually looking into the world and not just at a picture.
Definitely want to see more of the Substrata stuff.
Hey AimBiz, thanks for that comment! I can totally agree on the non existing practicality. It wasn't really my aim for the first knight. He was a test for how fast I can go on random Fantasy stuff the likes of applibot artworks.
Well, here is another one for Substrata I finished today. I wasn't really sure if I wanna do more for it, but this one was very fitting. It started as a speedpaint to train myself in aerial perspective and then I had the feeling that it would be cool to put it into use.
It shows the borderlands of the country of the fat to one of its neighbouring state. Click on it for a bigger resolution.
Well, ladies and gentlemen - I have finished my bachelorthesis and am now allowed to show what I did.
I posted a thread in the 3d/2d section for further detail on the work.

I decided to show some stuff from the beginning of the year. It was a task in my studies.
This last one is kinda like my favourite one. I decided to overhaul it a month ago. It is also the background of an animation.

It is supposed to be the hull of a old battleship. But, yeah, there will be adds on that side too. What better place to put them?
No problem 2Listen!
Keep posting !
Just finished another one for Airborn. I focused a bit more on the housing of the ice-people. Hope you guys dig it as well as the rest!
