1. figured out what to do with the tail
2. started texturing
Next up:
1. finish tetxures for body
2. design, model and texture armor
3. maybe do high poly(if I can figure out how to work the normal mapping in xnormals or blender)
this's my first attempt at handpainting so advice is welcome
I used a base mesh as an initial background so i dont think the proportions are off, but there might be some sort of optical illusion around the waist. Will redo the waist a bit so it doesn't look so weird.
From figure drawing workshop on 10/29. The model wore one other costume, and this was one of the longer poses (30 minutes). The paper is actually laid out as a portrait, and will put in some wonderland like scene. You can kind of see some of the linework for that in the lower right corner.
JFletcher - I'm diggin' that armor, your style's really good. I think it's that cod-piece and the horizontal lines coming out from it that make it look like his waist.
JFletcher I think the lack of bulk is throwing it off, that's a lot of armour and it looks like it's skin tight in places, the plate over his crotch throws things off a bit too imo
JFletcher: they are not that wrong about the skinny silhouette. but its just a really slight adjustment.. simply add a bit of a push modifier on top of it but by far not as bulky as [iWi] made it.. would be an entire new character
Mathorne: this is cool
Lampoly: make a comic book I'm waiting for the next episode
LoTekK: now make them in 3d, they would rock as ultra lowpoly (thats the way it should be called nowadays isn't it?) the sprites are nice and clean!
thx lampoly! cool wallpaper scetch.
yeah it was a 5 minute action in photoshop. :poly127:
i think i take more time on the next one ...
standart brushes sucks so much...i know!

I don't pretend that proportions are off , (on the contrary - they're OK)
simply , I've found him "thin" to be a warrior.
Also Ben hat dir geschrieben, dass sie zu wenig Beachtung hier bekommen und dass er die Farben, Beleuchtung und das Rendering super findet, die gelbe Version ist sein Favorit. Und als w
rollin, like it alot, are you and Neox working together now?!
Blaizer, wicked creature design How did you do the colours for the render? Seen a few peeps do that and it's always intrigued me.
Jonas Ronnegard, 'in the shapes, cool stuff!
Been secretly working on Freddy's head on and off, straight from max...

@pixelchaot that graffiti is very very awesome o.o. i like the first one the most i think
@ jonas i really like the feel of that gun. i thin the best touch is the ammo completely visible in the magazine, i think that would be awesome, though probably ineffective

These aren't getting enough love. Amazing color work, nice lighting, and rendering. The yellow up light on the first is my favorite.
i spend more love and time on the nexte one.

The cheeks could use some work, I did a quick paint over,
first time making an animated gif so forgive me if its a little fast.
edit: worked it a bit more...
It's still the same 500 poly's with meshsmooth on x2 since the last render.
ps: should I make the body before sculpting this head? It will have clothes on: a string vest, trousers and boots etc.

Quick 1 hour design-ey-sketch-thing
I'm pretty happy with it.
I want to start producing series of images in this style.
not too sure about the circle and the stuff going on the lower right corner
still needs some work and crap load of details but its a w.i.p right?
EDIT: UPDATED IMAGE!!!
it will be low polygon in about one month, got something special in line for this airliner
I love you.
Was just intended to illustrate watching your detail/simplicity level for the blog, end up indicting glow-y bits as usual
