Yeah its a rough concept but if I didnt post it I would never get any work done on this!

I will do a better version as I finish roughing out a nude base for it.. however I'm not looking to amaze anyone with a great design, heh. But I will certainly make an effort to ensure its decent (open to interpretation).
Cat in the sack ! haha, its too LATE but I will definately nail things down before I make armour and clothing. I have some colours in mind just not on (digital) canvas yet.
I like the head alot better in 3d than on the concept and the colors are great too.
I also really like the handguard on the concept, you should definately keep that!
That's very cool spacemonkey. The colors look good too, I've seen the same scheme used in some of your other work iirc. No matter, it's looking pretty bad ass already.
looking very cool, I agree with some of the others the colours/patterns do look familiar somehow. The characters legs look really short in the concept?
Possibly too late pitch in if you're doing a re-work. From the design I see some similarities with bats and rat creatures and in terms of color I think it's all a bit too cold and dense. I'm missing a few red or pinkish colors in your palette to warm things up in a few certain areas like face and chest.
I like the new take on it, it's looking ace. I look forward to see how it develops.
I never really comment on your stuff as it goes without saying that its all really good - but this last guy you have done is great and has a real sense of character and personality. Good work!
good idea with the "history" stuff Tim, I always try to do that since it gives you a greater pool of focused ideas to draw on and add to the character, to make it unique and compelling.
I like this new guy, not really sure what's going on with his right arm though!
I wanted to mention that I like to export blockout shapes between max and zbrush all the time... based on the shapes I export from max I decided to change the shape and pose of my main sculpt in zbrush. Its a pretty fun way to work as the hardsurface stuff will have an impact on my sculpt and vice versa.
Nothing revolutionary but I never seem to have enough time to post much anymore.. so I figure I'd explain what I do as I go along.
Finally.. started with Arsh's base mesh (modified) and later reprojected it after further modifications to ensure I will have enough detail in the appropriate places. Later I will possibly break it down into sub tools as required.
Starting with a base mesh and then later identifying 'exactly' were you need those extra polies (or not as the case may be) is really useful and saves me worrying about accurately predicting where I need them before I start sculpting.
Very interesting sculpt, the sense of history comes through really clearly -- it'd be very easy to tell a story about that character just on the concept art
Would the character right bicep not be more entropied then that? Doesn't look like it'd have a lot of elbow / forearm rotation work to do, so maybe it'd lose strength.
I thought I commented on this Space, but awesome work all around and I really like the new direction you have going with this one. Great basemesh as usual for your characters, and will wait to see this one finished.

have to work on the composition/proportions/design
intersting, but it's not wow.
Please play around with the shapes a little more, until i can't stop wowing!
and don't forget to nail down the colorsceme BEFORE you start modeling
looking forward to some progress!

Looking forward to more.
Thats it.
bit of a refocus this morning

Did a bit on this yesterday and I think I'm going to do more on it today as hay fever is getting to me a bit.
I wanted to add some personality to this guy.. way too often I dont think I consider motivations or a sense of history to the stuff I create.
I like this new guy, not really sure what's going on with his right arm though!
I'll have to work on that hand in the concept..

It'll be fun to follow the development of this.
