very nice!
would be good to see it with two legs tho
my only crit goes to the hand.. I think it needs a bit more work on the fingers.. they look pretty round and cartoonish.. and don't fit the craggy face of the lion imo..
Wow i really think that looks amazing the only thing ins the chain mail links are really distracting... they look was to over sized but i mean as a whole it looks amazing!!!! keep it up bro ... man i have allot of work to do
Katz, this is looking great, and love all the small tidbits of polycount that you have going on. Keep this up man, as I know it will be a winner when your done.
redmarks - all those little L shapes are doing nothing but break up your design flow, the big huge squares in the front just look weird. The strap on the big arm is interesting in that it's this big bad ass piece of armor but it needs a little leather strap to hold it together?
yellow - I find it funny that the most important part of the foot (big toe) is the least armored? Also the mid piece that looks like a cod piece would make it very hard to bend over since it would basically poke you in the pelvis every time.
Other than that you are doing some incredible work, i'm scared for your pc, it may EXPLODE!
I disagree on the red parts ThatDon other than the strap on the glove. I think this model needs some more popped out pieces to give it more impact, and the squares on the neck are a good part of that.
About the chains, I think the problem with them is that each ring hangs exactly the same in relation to the others, which is weird because chains have weight and tension would pull some links tight. Shuffling them around a bit to indicate gravity, plus shrinking the ring size would help make them look more realistic.
Otherwise real nice work Katze, I was very skeptical with the first wip with the arm, but with the whole thing coming together the gimp effect is gone and it looks like a very nice entry. Great work.
lol i just noticed the "polycount" in script on his right arm.... hahah awesome touch //edit wow its everywhere, guess i just saw it as noodly detail the first time!
Great model. I really like the render.
It would be sweet if you could tell us how you render that ? in witch software ?
How do you set up the lights etc ...
nice work buddy, really nice work, have to agree that the rim is kinda distracting in some areas, but this totally rocks, not a fan of the hand tho but a better pose could help with that and maybe a bit less spec?
What a teaser :P. I agree about toning down the bloom / spec on it just so it does hide some of the great detail you put in the character. Really interested to know what this was rendered in to get that effect. Just by the glow I'd say UT3.
If you are using the cryengine for your "rendering" then please use humanskin or cloth shader for the skin/fur of the lion. It will definitley look even more kick-ass !
maybe relax the fingers a bit? curl them increasly down to the pinky you know? the hand pose looks a little flat as it is. Materials are quite nice, and i like the lighting, tho theres a bit too much bloom i think.
It's too static right now; he looks straight ahead, his feet (one is missing :O ) are next to each other, both his hands are extended and stiff looking.
Throw a fist in there, move one foot to the back, bend a knee, make him look a bit to the side...
The bloom is a bit too much like EQ and others mention and I liked it more when the sunlight hit half of his face.
The platform he's standing on looks a too much like his armour, which makes the whole thing blend together a bit. Maybe make it darker?
i think that the base is to similar to the texture. and its dificult to read the char right now. my opinion. maybe make the base darker or something to increase contrast with the char.
Because his legs look so stiff I imagine more of a Captain Morgan stance to it. Shift the hips, and I agree to fixing the contrast of the base. It's too eye catching at the moment.
I've to agree to say that you should separate the base from the character more, by making it in another material. There is also too much information on it and it's driving our look directly on it, which is a shame because your character is really cool ! Maybe try something with less specular, like concrete/wood or something. An yeah, again, maybe decrease a bit the Bloom

but something about the chains is bothering me... cant put my finger on it...
cant wait to see it finished!!!
but despite of that.. realy an unique char
OBST!!
small changes and a proper zbrush render
therefore I split it into two models (in order to render it properly I deleted the highest subs and merged the two models)

lookin badass! gogogo left leg and lowpoly!
little teaser
sorry, no smaller chains. but I couldn't find the source files
I would say that the rim lighting could maybe be toned down a bit though. It's so bright in places that it distracts from the model IMO.
Spark
what software did you do the rendering with?
I think maybe a TINY bit less rim lighting might help though, like Tulkamir said it's getting a bit distracting here and there. Great colours though.
It would be sweet if you could tell us how you render that ? in witch software ?
How do you set up the lights etc ...
That's looking fantastic!
How'd did you get the metal effect? is it a noisy spec map?
btw, which engine/renderer are you using?
I will show the flats when they are final
but yes, it's just a noisy specular.
and the rim is already toned down.
I'm using cryengine, but unreal should do the job too.
EDIT : ups read that you are using cryengine sorry XD
hm hm yes yes awesome...
I really like the colors and the metal renderer. Look real, very good stuff!

fuck the light and everthing else too

Other than that; This model is pure win!
and I don´t want to rig YOUR model
but i like the materials !!
truly your best model
Looks great anyways !
lolz
so Manuel where's your final?!
