Was that the same guy that did the heavy weapon guy voice? They need to Scot it up a few notches, it kind of falls flat sometimes. Voice acting aside, its amazing and sure as hell confirms I'll be on the servers again tonight. For all my Orange box bitching, I honestly don't mind the price paid when you stack it up against the mountains of fun I've had and its not even out of beta.
I don't mind most of the voice acting, but the Aussie Sniper's Battle Cry's are pathetic. . . "Lets have a go at it!" He might as well say, "Meh. . . might as well try. . ."
Its funny how everyone is up in arms over the Demoman not sounding like a Scot... The Sniper falls about 100 yards short from sounding like an Aussie.
The Demoman vid was pretty good, and is slowly becoming my favourite class.
Any Aussie dudes want to setup some inter-studio TF2 matches? Our studio is pretty keen to get their game on, even though we only have 3 people with the game to date. But most will be picking it up on release. PM me or something.

Ah, that is just a picture I had found on the internet.
However, you are correct in assuming Threewave is filled with TF2 addicts: We've garnered over 220 hours of play time with the game and there's about 8 of us that play regularily.
Meh, I'm too lazy to bother with scheduling or anything. We did end up with about 7 Cryptic people playing against a few Volition people a week or two ago. But that was pretty random.
It was the business 2 Friday's ago, but it seems to have died down to about 4 to 5 of us around the office playing during lunch times.
We generally play against/with the Blue Tongue Entertainment guys at around 12pm (Melbourne time), so any of you Aussies ever care to join us, just follow me through friends from the Polycount Community.
So for you folks who have played both the pc and 360 versions of the Orange Box do you have any recommendations on which to purchase? I was going to get the 360 version, but then my wife suprised me with the pc version by accident. I was trying to decide whether or not just to keep it.
My pc is a 2.8 p4 with 1 gig of ram and an ATI 9800 Pro. I've always ran HL2 considerably well and was wondering if the same stood for the orange box.
Awesome guys, that's really all I needed to hear! I guess I'll just hang onto this pc version then and slug it out with everyone as soon as I can find some time.
Also, I thought there was going to be savings for games bought over Steam. The orange box my wife picked up at target is only 4 cents more than the steam version. That's a boat load of savings!

If it actually ends up back in the pockets of the developers i'm all for valve making money this way and continuing to make great games. The bigger picture here is that you're paying the same amount of money, but because valve actually earns money of off this instead of just breaking even, you see a better quality product.

I really don't mind either EQ, but I distinctly remember one of the pros that was being touted about steam was the savings due to distribution costs, etc. being cut. Meaning cheaper games for the consumer. You really can't beat the great deal that is The Orange Box no matter how you slice it. I was just taking notice that the in store boxed version costs exactly the same as the downloadable steam version.

That's because the stores would refuse to stock Valve products if they were being undercut by digital distribution. Why support someone who is threatening to put you out of business? When more and more people adopt Steam and other online services, eventually it will be possible for someone to throw the finger at brick and mortar stores and finally drop prices.
Yeah that was a good read. This game is still so much fun and I love checking out the concept art and how it was made. If anyone wants to play a few games, steam name is Waz. Been playing with some of the guys from cgtalk Friday nights at 6:30pst. Should get a polycount vs. cgtalk game going.
I wonder though when Valve will release more maps (maybe the ones that were already playable in the beta?).
There are really too few CTF maps right now

HA HA HA HA HA HA! This is seriously the greatest marketing campaign evar!
Still enjoyed the video though, some good lines there
Heavy = Russian
Spy = Brittish
Medic = German
Scout = New York/Jersey?
Engineer = Cowboy/Hick/Western American
Soldier = uh. . . generic American?
Sniper = Aussie
Pyro = Speech Impediment
I don't think the heavy needs to talk at all, his facial expressions alone are hilarious.

This game is a blast. Still feeling noobish but definitely getting better.

Quoted for fucking truth, I thought he was texan or something at first.
Anyone else finished Ep.2 yet? Amazing game, suffers the same problems as the first though - too easy, too short, etc.

If you are a real fan, you may want to buy this cool t-shirt:

I don't think that'll fit most people here. Last I checked the majority here are not infants. There's a few with infants though.

So how's about inter-studio matches? Schedule, timezone permitting of course...

After millions of attempts, finally got a custom tag through the surprisingly buggy TF2 system. Anybody else got some custom tags for stealing?
Vig: stop animatin' and poop out a TF2 map alreadys!
My pc is a 2.8 p4 with 1 gig of ram and an ATI 9800 Pro. I've always ran HL2 considerably well and was wondering if the same stood for the orange box.
I'd keep with the PC game mainly because of the player base. Most 360 people are all playing Halo3 and its a bit sparse in the TF2 servers.
Plus, your 9800 pro will be able to tough it out for sure with decent settings to boot.
