well-documented process of amazing artworks. I wish we have more world-class 3D artists having their projects documented into making-of film as beautifully as this.

He sucks, on day 9, 10 and 11, 12 he only made 1 robot respectively on each 2 days, meaning he had a net-waste of 15% in terms of man-hours, he would never survive in a game company with this work etiquette.
I was promised 10 robots in 10 day, but instead got 9 only, and he wasted an extra 2 days to make another one.
This cannot be tolerated, I'm going off to report him to Kotaku and how lazy he is.
PS: On an serious note, I would love to see the wireframes on those saucy models.
well, the finger necrosis or whatever it was was the worst, but that's not fear of holes that's repulsion to rotting body parts.. otherwise I think I'm immune to this particular phobia..
Plants are fine, and the toad too once you realize that it's a normal part of that animal's life and it's designed to give birth like a rocket pod. But what does creep me out are images of maggots and eggs such which have been subdermally injected by parasites.
But I don't think that's so much of an 'irrational' fear, but a healthy disgust of animals creeping under my skin and feeding off of my flesh. Similarly, all those linked youtube videos of cysts and pus - that's just a natural response to disease and unhealthy bodies.
The reason it makes you feel uneasy is because the skin we have, biologically, is our primary defense. It keeps out the dangerous stuff and keeps our more delicate layers intact.
Now imagine your skin is full of holes, like a million large paper cuts on your body, where every single movement you take slows down the healing process, and the nerve endings are in constants pain for each movement. Imagine these gaping holes healing up, but in their shape only and never actually closing fully.
You can stick everything in those holes, spiders could nestle in them, dirt accumulates, someone slaps you on the back? That pains will travel to the whole of your body because of the stressed muscle and nerve tissues on the surface.
Washing your hands? Good luck, soap and water will burn you a new one. Smooth baby skin will be something you only read in books.
So yeah, it makes us uneasy because of the everyday implication it has on our bodies.
But maybe I'm reading too much into it, just like I did with the Pope.

Cool skin simulation and cutting/sowing patterns. I'd never thought about moving skin around in such ways during an operation. It might creep you out a bit though, kind of uncanny valley-ish.

Wow.
Every time I've seen his work it makes me want to check out SoftImage, but it seems like no one else uses it.

Oh god, public transport with teenagers blasting music through their phones for everyone to hear just got a whole lot worse.
