somehow this reminded me of the old mechwarrior city levels, and that's a good feeling.. I would definitely agree that this is looking busy as all get out. Sounds like a challenge, but i would encourage you to take another pass it. honestly, defeating challenges like that is where I find the most fun in this business. I think your up for it as well.
Sorry if I missed this earlier, but do you have a shot of the planes in the city so we can get a sense of scale? The city is feeling very dense, which can be good, unless you're flying circles around it
Anyway, sweet stuff! I am totally on board with this old school tech, and I'm glad to see it's not holding you back, sweet stuff!
yeah this is damn hot dude...sorry about the maya though...so is this going back burner then or are you still bound and determined to finish this bad boy up?
And here I thought you had forgotten all about this project. I'm REALLY happy to see otherwise though. The second screen idea looks cool, I assume you are going to have it moving to correspond to the top screen . I hope more get shown soon ^_^.
Vitor: so those wernt from you, the ones telling me i need i need to increase the size of.....
Johny soon soon, and we might need testers at some point, those from this board will surely get a lookin.
Eclipse: yeah the hands (left one not drawn yet but will be on throttle) and feet will animate with inputs. as well as all the wheels and blips and knobs, well nearly all. colours will also relate to choice of pilot.
the state unfortunatly is the same, meant to get something going again, but with work strains ive not really touched it in a while. did some half finished stuff which i will post when i get more time to work on it but im being lame out of work at the moment.
couldnt even remember what this post was but as i had authored it though i better give it a look

first week at work and all that. good fun being payed to learn Maya, even if it is a pile of (yeah right its stable, my arse) shite
after 24 hour normal mapping etc on 360 its great to have some DS down time. big updates are invisible as yet (programming and tools and stuff)
but i have been making a start on the second screen
its a first pass and theres bits and bobs missing but it gives you a good idea..
hands will be animated as will dials and throttle/gun levers
any thoughts are welcome

not sure how were gonna do the horizon thingy with no 3d.
apparently 2d only on second screen unless you do the 30fps trickery and loose all that texture mem.

I´d really like to see more of this
You must continue to make this Porco Rosso running on my DS
I think that I will make a try too!
