Great job so far! This concept just keeps getting better and better. Love those new hands! I personally feel the torso armor looks a bit boring but I get you idea behind it. Just think the hands, wings and head takes the focus off it.
youre right on the money resin, for now though im trying to bash out the shape of everything, I'm pretty confident that a decent colour scheme will be able to address the point you make about balance, and there will be colour. Oh yes
If it was up to me, I think I'd actually lose the wings. Maybe just keep some tattered remains hanging off the metal parts coming out of his back. But thats just me.
Great concept, even though I do agree that Rhinokey and gauss do raise a good point, I still like where your concept is headed. Keep it up!

Just saw all the more recent concepts, looking great! I especially like the feathers coming out of the armour.
I think you should leave part of the chest exposed, and give him the colored breast feathers some chickens have. I know it would leave more of his body exposed, but visually it could be worth it perhaps.
Nice consepts. Wy not put the jetpack higher up his back, almost at his shoulders and point them some degress out from him? Then he could have a tail/rotorcontroll at the same time.
The question is..does it make him hover/fly or just jump and glide?
yeah sorry if it wasnt clear. I dont have any more time to spend on it so I photosourced some detail. I don't honestly think I'll get all this cool detail in but aim high right?
Definately looking better and better with every iteration!
The only thing i dont get is, jetpack and wings? I figured by standard avionic conventions, wings would make him fly/glide (not that anything with wings means it will fly)? Thus no real need for a jetpack?
Maybe its just me... *shrugs*

I think you'll find most modern airplanes have both wings and jets
Anyway, nice, I like the design on the new comb protector/prosthesis
Yeah the idea is that he comes from the airbourne division, of course they can fly with the wings alone but they're fitted with boosters so that they can actually take on fighter craft, and also make long journeys without much effort. Picture a bunch of these guys blasting through the sky with him at the front of the formation.
OK I've made a bunch of colour variations, to be honest I like them all! I'm having a hard time picking one, let me know if you have an opinion: (big pic! 440k)
I like 6 and 2 best, although 4 and 5 are also pretty good.
6 would be the very best if the orangey-pink thin trims at the moment were made a really nice, rich gold - purple and gold is nobleman's material colours!
4 does it for me. It is a bit bland in color (not very "grand" or general looking), but the contrast with the red gobbler helps draw the eye right to the face. Maybe try it with a little trim color variation?
4 is my favourite. It seems to be the most villanous and lets the red of his head really stand out. Some of the other colours might be alright if they were toned down and more subtle.
I'm all about getting your assests in gear and finished in time. Serriously, you have had the concept fleshed out for a while now and not even so much as a vert placed yet. I hope you build fast because you have an ass-load of work ahead of you if you want to pull this off. =/ I would HATE to see one of our coolest concepts not make it in because it stayed just that, a concept.
You can play with colors after your model is done young man. Don't make me turn this car around. Don't you give me that look, oh you're going to get it when your father gets home!

lol vig thanks. don't worry the verts begin tomorrow after I've finished up the bits that arent visible from that view tonight and his spear. I wanted to have a thorough reference to work from- I find the less I have to be designing on-the-fly while modelling, the better the modelling is. Distribution of brain power or something
edit:in retrospect I am also just getting lots of different choices but there are some favourites emerging so it has definately helped me narrow down the selection

Don't forget the tail!
And I'm with Skanker, tail please.
I'd love to see you start modeling this!

Keep em coming!
edit: looks like my webspace is temporarily borked, so once thats all sorted I'll get back with another update
thanks to mop for hosting, ftp still haywire!

Also, 9 has great colors too.
Keeeeeep it up!
Keep it up!
That thing looks creepy without it's fleshy mohawk. Great stuff so far, rooster.
