This is the sweet spot for your low-poly models. Post 'em if you've got 'em!Low-poly hasn't really been a requirement in the games industry for a long while now. This thread is for low-poly art style appreciation, so please take note of these rough guidelines:
- Keep models under 1,000 triangles.
- Scenes are fine, if all models are low poly.
Some dedicated low-poly modelling tools now exist that make this art style a lot easier to produce;

Yes the textures are pretty minimal, the actual in-game size is about 25-33% of the image I posted so the mirroring and minor errors shouldnt be noticable at that size. Here is the texture, which is also used by some other fruits:
Im working with a 128x128 now but I will probably use a 64x64 for the final version.
The diffuse looks very nice, and yeah I think there need to be double the amount of lobes on the orange
i'm not talking 'bout amount. I'm talking of the size. they are looking like rain drops right now. here is what happens when you slice the orange verticaly.
of course, that is small 'error', and there is no reason to correct it, cuz it looks good.
hope you understand what I mean. =] cuz my english is so bad. =]
Hey all! I started off lo-poly modelling, then moved onto hi-poly stuff, but returned back to the wonders of lo-poly after a bit of 2D work. Love texturing the most, where's the fun in using ZBrush for that?
Here's my couch!
Sweet work on those fruit kwakkie!

foxybrown (i call her so): 674 tris
afro: 63 tris
katana: 130 tris
please excuse the large image size.
Dig the afro chick.
Or he could tint the interior pink and make it look more like a grapefruit and the interior membranes would be more accurate. Either way, They're awesome. Very nice work kwakkie.
ha-ha, its because you live in Kazakhstan. some people buy it in slices, vacuum packed. although I'm not implying anything
They were made in less than an hour, and yeah they are a bit sloppy but I'll make sure to work out all of your suggestions! Thanks all
any other crits and comments?
and the new lips are a lot better!
I made my own, it was fun to make ^^
For a FF7 remake project ish
It is setup as a pedestrian and breaks into ~20 pieces.
Picture shows C2 16bit and 8bit mode
Well, i have some time tonight, I will make some chicken nuggets :P
You rang? I suck at texturing :P.
FUCK, that made my night. I love this forum.
omnomnomnom
But since when were watermelons a sphere? last i recalled they were more squashed in shape.
I thought they were squares.. *shrug*

Awesome work, very addictive.
More food anyone?
You guys should add a specular map on the chicken legs to make them nice and greasy
Anyway, fixed some of the issues, here is the result with the small texture(32x32 per fruit):
Now I have to make a shitload more and also some other edible items(no chickens though )
Muzz: Hawken told me about fruitninja when he saw my fruits, very inspirational stuff, I really dig the cutting effect you guys made! These models are not for a fruitninja clone btw, but it does involve the slicing of various foods
i guess thats basicly a regional thing, ebcause here the spherelike watermelons are more common then the ellipse shaped ones

Think I'm doing something horribly wrong with trying to bake AO, as it draws a line where the polygons intersect, but doesn't black out where things overlap - had to draw in by hand and pretty much do everything again from scratch, especially on the cube parts, which baked out with black seams (like padding set to -2 or something)

Lol, Actually now I see Eyes Too xD
Its a brighter spot were the mirror seam is. i will fix it XD
EDIT: Fixed, I also added a Crispy look to the chicken legs, the other ones looked more like Baked in the oven than being fried with Crispy bread coverture.
