Aw man, i started a steampunk/victorian interior and after watching yours, it's so amazing that got me discouraged. Mine looks nothing like yours...! Can i ask you something, how can you change the color/material from a sculpted ornament detail that is in a normal map?
Thank you but I hope that you are not really discouraged. I didn't really understand your question about the ornament material. Can you elaborate, please?
Let's say i have a flat plane that i sculpt some ornaments (like those victorian-like flowers etc) I can bake this detail to a normal map, but the whole flat plane would be made of wood. Can i somehow mask that sculpted detail to assign a different material to them?
Well, if the ornaments are separate meshes baked into the plane you could color them through a custom material and bake a color map out of them to use as a mask. Otherwise the only thing I can think of is using some sort of procedural masking based on curvature and normal map using Quixel or Substance (whichever one you prefer).
