Oh, I didn't check very thoroughly did I? If Kuadro isn't running, I can drag an image onto the exe, Kuadro launches and displays that image. If I drag a selection of images, only the last selected is opened.
Once it's running, it won't open any new images in this way, my cursor displays a brief hourglass. I also tried to add a right click 'open with...' for Kuadro, with the same results. I can still use the task tray icon to load more images, FYI.
I think I found the bug, just out of curiosity, do the images you are trying to open contain spaces on the name?
The multiple images I never accounted for (which I'll add on the next release). But I think there is also a bug with "opening with" images with spaces on the name.
The drag and drop support, are you suppose to be able to drag an image on the Kuadro icon in the task bar and the image opens in Kaudro, if so that isn't working ?
It's a little bit faster to open multiple files across different folders. You can have an instance of windows explorer open and Kuadro and simply drag the files you want open as opposed to having to go to the trayicon each time.
Currently the tray icon doesn't support drop events, I'll need to look into it for future updates.
I mis-understood and thought when the icon is minimized in the taskbar I can drag and drop an image onto it, I prefer to place common programs in the task bar. This functionality is desperately needed as well as automatic start up when Windows starts.
And thanks for the fixes! Minor issue with dragging images onto the exe only: images that you opened then closed get re-opened when dragging new images onto the exe.
Thanks for all the updates! I've really enjoyed using the tool. I was wondering if there was a way for the .exe to know if there are updates available? I happen to catch the thread if I'm on every now and again. It would be awesome if the program could check automatically for me and then update itself. (Lazy, I know)
Since I've just recently played around with image opacity (overlaying reference on my single screen surface pro), would it be possible to have an opacity slider or a context menu extension with 10, 20, .., 90% etc.? The current "Lower opacity" works, but takes ages to get to a level I can use.
Either way, no big deal and still loving (and recommending) this nifty little reference viewer!
What if you don't like how the software manages, then I didn't drink the coffee I bought the coffee and threw it on the ground, I didn't even taste the coffee
It would be great if you could add an option to choose our own controls/shortcuts.
That way maya user could pan/zoom like they're use to do it in their software, max user could do the same, and so on.
PureRef is free as well, so you can have your cup of coffee while you try it.
Donations are accepted to be able to continue improving the software and add features that users request.
Another program that I would recommend is ontopreplica http://ontopreplica.codeplex.com/
It is not the same kind of program at all like the ones above, not exactly for picture reference. It duplicates any window once or multiple times, with crop or not, full size or reduced, full screen or window etc. For example a running video (even if the window is the the background) can be duplicated with a different scale in another monitor. You could have a full screen video running in your secondary monitor and a small copy of it in your main one.
Thanks for the links, PureRef is indeed really cool, and great if your workflow is opening a lot of images together and having clusters of them. We looked into it before writing Kuadro, the main difference for us was we needed to be able to have multiple windows open floating around your other software.
After that the Kuadro has evolved with a lot of neat little features, like being able to use it to trace over other software, and lower its opacity.
I'm not sure if it is just me, but when I click to minimize Kuadro (latest version) it only minimizes a single image from the group of images open. Is this intended?
I should already have drag and drop in there. Adding the additional resizers should be pretty easy, I guess it doesn't hurt, specially if it's an option.
And the links from the web is on my wishlist. I'll see if I can get that to work too!
Hi Ikruel! This is a fantastic piece of software and i'm already using it and loving it!
A quick suggestion for future updates:
- After arranging 3-4 images together I wanted to move those images as a group but couldn't find a way to do so, having to move then around individually. Maybe a "group selected images" option would be nice.
Not too sure how hard this would be, but it would be awesome as it would help to organize even more.

Drag and Drop is something I'm looking at. I'll probably be adding it in future versions.
Thanks for the suggestion!
Minimize all, transparent backgrounds and a few more goodies. Most of you guys' requests made it in.
Thanks for the downloads and suggestions! Hope you like it

Thanks for sharing the tool. But I've got problem with installing. It says it's not compatible with the version of my Windows.
I'm using Win7 32bit.
Unfortunately the current version is only 64bit, I'll look into adding 32 bit compatibility in future versions.
CreativeSheep - Good suggestion, although the start menu is a nice workaround
cptSwing - Thanks!
Edit: Dragging new images onto the icon tray or onto the exe in explorer doesn't open the images.
Glad you liked it! That's weird that it doesn't open the images, does it launch Kuadro in the taskbar at all?
Best,
Luiz

I'll also fix that up and post an update asap.
Thanks for reporting it!

:shifty:
What is the point of the drag and drop ?

Holding middle mouse button and dragging will pan around the image.
Oh, thanks !
CreativeSheep - Thanks for the feature requests!
Glad you liked it. Yeah... auto update is something that I've been wanting too. Definitely something I'm interested in getting to work.
Thanks for the download!

Have you tried the shortcut T + Mouse drag up and down?
Glad you liked it, and thanks for recommending!
This looks interesting, although no trial I have to pay right away, hrmm.

That shouldn't be the case. Minimizing should hide all of them... Is that still happening?
and it already exists
thank you! downloaded, tried, works like a charm! Donated too! thanks!!
I'm planning on doing some Kuadro work this week too. GDC sucked up most of my time recently, sorry for the radio silence.
Going to take another stab at the Mac version, stay tuned
if it's not too much work, could you later include resizing nodes in all four corners of the images? (if it's optional only, that's great too)
maybe drag and drop?
and links from the web?
just ideas, this little program is already really great for me!
thanks again!
